Notes

  1. These settings only apply to the digital edition, not to static documents in other sections of the website.
  2. The application uses client-side web storage to retain settings across pages and sessions. It will not work if you are browsing in incognito/private mode, or if site data storage is disabled in your browser's privacy and security settings. Only basic configuration data is stored – no tracking information whatsoever. Clearing your browser history or clicking ‘Reset’ removes all saved settings.
  3. Support for the Gothic alphabet is experimental. An appropriate font is required on your system; as of 2025, most modern systems and phones seem to include one. We may add an option to select a specific typeface — Dr. Pfeffer’s fonts come to mind.
  4. The Gothic alphabet option does not attempt to render manuscripts, does not switch the application into diplomatic-edition mode. It simply applies a mechanical conversion to Streitberg's text. It is provided for didactic purposes, to practise reading the alphabet. (If you hesitate, hover your mouse over a word to see its transliteration!)
  5. To view the Collitz character (see Streitberg 1920, p. 41), you need a Unicode font that supports Latin Extended-B. For precomposed polytonic Greek, a font that supports both the Greek and Greek Extended ranges is necessary. Modern browsers automatically select an alternative font for code points not included in the default font.
