Corinthians II chapter 7
- Corinthians II 7:1
- A + B Þo habandans nu gahaita, liubans, hrainjam unsis af allamma bisauleino leikis jah ahmins, ustiuhandans weihiþa in agisa gudis.
- — Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all
filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
- Corinthians II 7:2
- A + B gamoteima in izwis; ni ainummehun gaskoþum, ni ainnohun frawardidedum, ni ainnohun bifaihodedum.
- — Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no
man.
- Corinthians II 7:3
- A ni du gawargeinai qiþa; fauraqaþ auk þatei in hairtam unsaraim sijuþ du miþgaswiltan jas~samana liban.
- B ni du gawargeinai qiþa; fauraqaþ auk þatei in hairtam unsaraim sijuþ du gaswiltan jah samana liban.
- — I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts
to die and live with you.
- Corinthians II 7:4
- A + B managa mis trauains du izwis, managa mis ƕoftuli faur izwis, usfulliþs im gaþlaihtais, ufarfulliþs im fahedais in allaizos managons aglons unsaraizos.
- — Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled
with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
- Corinthians II 7:5
- A jah auk qimandam unsis in Makaidonjai ni waiht habaida gaƕeilainais leik unsar, ak in allamma anapragganai, utana waihjons, innana agisa.
- B jah auk qimandam unsis in Makidonjai ni waiht habaida gaƕeilainais leik unsar, ak in allamma anapragganai, utana waihjons, innana agisa.
- — For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled
on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
- Corinthians II 7:6
- A akei sa gaþlaihands hnaiwidaim gaþrafstida uns guþ in quma Teitaus;
- B akei sa gaþlaihan<d>s hnaiwidaim gaþrafstida uns guþ in quma Teitaus;
- — Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming
of Titus;
- Corinthians II 7:7
- A + B aþþan ni þatainei in quma is, ak jah in gaþlaihtai, þizaiei gaþrafstiþs was ana izwis, gateihands uns izwara gairnein, izwarana gaunoþu, izwar aljan faur mik, swaei mis mais faginon warþ.
- — And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you,
when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so
that I rejoiced the more.
- Corinthians II 7:8
- A unte jabai gaurida izwis in bokom, ni idreigo mik, jah jabai idreigoda — unte gasaiƕa þatei so aipistaule jaina, jabai <jah> du leitilai ƕeilai, gaurida izwis —
- B unte jabai gaurida izwis in þaim bokom, ni idreigo mik, jah jabai idreigoda — gasaiƕa auk þatei so aipistaule jaina, jabai <jah> du leitilai ƕeilai, gaurida izwis —
- — For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for
I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
- Corinthians II 7:9
- A nu fagino, ni unte gauridai wesuþ, ak unte gauridai wesuþ du idreigai; saurgaideduþ auk bi guþ, ei waihtai ni gasleiþjaindau us unsis.
- B nu fagino, ni unte gauridai wesuþ, ak unte gauridai wesuþ du idreigai; saurgaideduþ auk bi guþ, ei in waihtai ni gasleiþjaindau us unsis.
- — Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for
ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
- Corinthians II 7:10
- A unte bi guþ saurga idreiga du ganistai gatulgida ustiuhada; iþ þis fairƕaus saurga dauþu gasmiþoþ.
- B unte so bi guþ saurga idreiga du ganistai gatulgidai ustiuhada; iþ þis fairƕaus saurga dauþu gasmiþoþ.
- — For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow
of the world worketh death.
- Corinthians II 7:11
- A saiƕ[a] auk silbo þata bi guþ saurgan izwis, ƕelauda gatawida izwis usdaudein, akei sunjon, akei unwerein, akei agis, akei gairnein, akei aljan, akei fraweit! in allamma ustaiknideduþ izwis hlutrans wisan þamma toja.
- B saiƕ auk silbo þata bi guþ saurgan izwis, ƕelauda gatawida izwis usdaudein, akei sunjon, akei unwerein, akei agis, akei gairnein, akei aljan, akei fraweit! in allamma ustaiknideduþ izwis hlutrans wisan þamma toja.
- — For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness
it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what
fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things
ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
- Corinthians II 7:12
- A + B aþþan jabai melida, ni in þis anamahtjandins, ni in þis anamahtidins, ak du gabairhtjan usdaudein unsara þoei faur izwis habam wiþra izwis in andwairþja gudis.
- — Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong,
nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God
might appear unto you.
- Corinthians II 7:13
- A inuþ~þis gaþrafstidai sijum; aþþan ana gaþrafsteinai unsarai filaus mais faginodedum ana fahedai Teitaus, unte anaƕeilaiþs warþ ahma is fram allaim izwis.
- B inuh þis gaþrafstidai sium; aþþan ana gaþrafsteinai unsarai filaus mais faginodedum ana fahedai Teitaus, unte anaƕeilaiþs warþ ahma is fram allaim izwis.
- — Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we
for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
- Corinthians II 7:14
- A unte jabai ƕa imma fram izwis ƕaiƕop, ni gaaiwiskoþs warþ; ak swaswe allata izwis in sunjai rodidedum, swa jah ƕoftuli unsara so du Teitau[n] sunja warþ.
- B unte jabai ƕa imma fram izwis ƕaiƕop, ni gaaiwiskoþs warþ; ak swaswe allata izwis in sunjai rodidedum, swa jah ƕoftuli unsara so du Teitau sunja warþ.
- — For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all
things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found
a truth.
- Corinthians II 7:15
- A jab~brusts is ufarassau du izwis sind, gamunandins þo allaize izwara ufhausein, swe miþ agisa jah reirom andnemuþ ina.
- B jah brusts is ufarassau du izwis sind, gamunandins þo allaize izwara ufhausein, swe miþ agisa jah reirom andnemuþ ina.
- — And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience
of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
- Corinthians II 7:16
- A + B fagino nu, unte in allamma gatraua in izwis.
- — I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
