— I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
— Zo zeg ik dan: Hebben zij gestruikeld, opdat zij vallen zouden? Dat zij verre; maar door hun val is de zaligheid den heidenen geworden, om hen tot jaloersheid te verwekken.
— Je dis donc: Est-ce pour tomber qu'ils ont bronché? Loin de là! Mais, par leur chute, le salut est devenu accessible aux païens, afin qu'ils fussent excités à la jalousie.
