Titus chapter 1

Titus 1:1: ^B Pawlus, skalks gudis, iþ apaustaulus Iesuis Xristaus bi galaubeinai gawalidaize gudis jah ufkunþja sunjos sei bi gagudein ist,; — παῦλος δοῦλος θεοῦ, ἀπόστολος δὲ ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ κατὰ πίστιν ἐκλεκτῶν θεοῦ καὶ ἐπίγνωσιν ἀληθείας τῆς κατ' εὐσέβειαν; — Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
Titus 1:2: ^B du wenai libainais aiweinons þoei gahaihait unliugands guþ[a] faur mela aiweina,; — ἐπ' ἐλπίδι ζωῆς αἰωνίου, ἣν ἐπηγγείλατο ὁ ἀψευδὴς θεὸς πρὸ χρόνων αἰωνίων,; — In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Titus 1:3: ^B iþ ataugida mela swesamma waurd sein in mereinai, sei gatrauaida ist mis bi anabusnai nasjandis unsaris gudis,; — ἐφανέρωσεν δὲ καιροῖς ἰδίοις τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ ἐν κηρύγματι ὃ ἐπιστεύθην ἐγὼ κατ' ἐπιταγὴν τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν θεοῦ,; — But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
Titus 1:4: ^B Teitau, walisin barna bi gamainjai galaubeinai, ansts jah gawairþi fram guda attin jah Xristau Iesu nasjand unsaramma.; — τίτῳ γνησίῳ τέκνῳ κατὰ κοινὴν πίστιν: χάρις καὶ εἰρήνη ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς καὶ χριστοῦ ἰησοῦ τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν.; — To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Titus 1:5: ^B in þizozei waihtais bilaiþ þus in Kretai, in þize ei wanata atgaraihtjais jah gasatjais and baurgs praizbwtairein, swaswe ik þus garaidida,; — τούτου χάριν ἀπέλιπόν σε ἐν κρήτῃ, ἵνα τὰ λείποντα ἐπιδιορθώσῃ καὶ καταστήσῃς κατὰ πόλιν πρεσβυτέρους, ὡς ἐγώ σοι διεταξάμην,; — For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
Titus 1:6: ^B jabai ƕas ist ungafairinonds, ainaizos qenais aba, barna habands galaubeina, ni in usqissai usstiureins aiþþau ungaƕairba.; — εἴ τίς ἐστιν ἀνέγκλητος, μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἀνήρ, τέκνα ἔχων πιστά, μὴ ἐν κατηγορίᾳ ἀσωτίας ἢ ἀνυπότακτα.; — If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
Titus 1:7: ^B skaluþ~þan aipiskaupus ungafairinoþs wisan, swe gudis fauragaggja, ni hauhhairts, [ni bihaitja,] ni þwairhs, ni weinnas, ni slahals, ni aglaitgastalds;; — δεῖ γὰρ τὸν ἐπίσκοπον ἀνέγκλητον εἶναι ὡς θεοῦ οἰκονόμον, μὴ αὐθάδη, μὴ ὀργίλον, μὴ πάροινον, μὴ πλήκτην, μὴ αἰσχροκερδῆ,; — For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
Titus 1:8: ^B ak gastigods, bleiþs, andaþahts, garaihts, weihs, gaþaurbs,; — ἀλλὰ φιλόξενον, φιλάγαθον, σώφρονα, δίκαιον, ὅσιον, ἐγκρατῆ,; — But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
Titus 1:9: ^A .... waurdis triggws, ei mahteigs sijai jah gaþlaihan in laiseinai hailai jaþ~þans andstandandans gasakan.; ^B andanemeigs bi laiseinai waurdis triggwis, ei mahteigs sijai jah gaþlaihan in laiseinai hailai jah þans andstandandans gasakan.; — ἀντεχόμενον τοῦ κατὰ τὴν διδαχὴν πιστοῦ λόγου, ἵνα δυνατὸς ᾖ καὶ παρακαλεῖν ἐν τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ τῇ ὑγιαινούσῃ καὶ τοὺς ἀντιλέγοντας ἐλέγχειν.; — Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
Titus 1:10: ^A sind auk managai ungaƕairbai, lausaiwaurdai, lutondans, þishun þai us bimaita,; ^B sind auk managai ungaƕairbai, lausawaurdai, lutondans, þishun ....; — εἰσὶν γὰρ πολλοὶ [καὶ] ἀνυπότακτοι, ματαιολόγοι καὶ φρεναπάται, μάλιστα οἱ ἐκ τῆς περιτομῆς,; — For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
Titus 1:11: ^A þanzei skal gasakan, þaiei gardins allans uswaltjand laisjandans þatei ni skuld ist, in faihugairneins.; — οὓς δεῖ ἐπιστομίζειν, οἵτινες ὅλους οἴκους ἀνατρέπουσιν διδάσκοντες ἃ μὴ δεῖ αἰσχροῦ κέρδους χάριν.; — Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
Titus 1:12: ^A qaþ auk sums ize, swes ize praufetus: Kretes sinteino liugnjans, ubila unbiarja, wambos latos.; — εἶπέν τις ἐξ αὐτῶν, ἴδιος αὐτῶν προφήτης, κρῆτες ἀεὶ ψεῦσται, κακὰ θηρία, γαστέρες ἀργαί.; — One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
Titus 1:13: ^A so ist weitwodei sunjeina. in þizozei fairinos gasak ins ƕassaba, ei hailai sijaina in galaubeinai,; — ἡ μαρτυρία αὕτη ἐστὶν ἀληθής. δι' ἣν αἰτίαν ἔλεγχε αὐτοὺς ἀποτόμως, ἵνα ὑγιαίνωσιν ἐν τῇ πίστει,; — This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Titus 1:14: ^A ni atsaiƕandans judaiwiskaize spilli jah anabusne manne afwandjandane sis sunja.; — μὴ προσέχοντες ἰουδαϊκοῖς μύθοις καὶ ἐντολαῖς ἀνθρώπων ἀποστρεφομένων τὴν ἀλήθειαν.; — Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
Titus 1:15: ^A aþþan all hrain hrainjaim, iþ bisaulidaim jah ungalaubjandam ni waiht hrain, ak bisaulida sind ize jah aha jah miþwissei.; — πάντα καθαρὰ τοῖς καθαροῖς: τοῖς δὲ μεμιαμμένοις καὶ ἀπίστοις οὐδὲν καθαρόν, ἀλλὰ μεμίανται αὐτῶν καὶ ὁ νοῦς καὶ ἡ συνείδησις.; — Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
Titus 1:16: ^A guþ andhaitand kunnan, iþ waurstwam inwidand, andasetjai wisandans jah ungalaubjandans, jah du allamma waurstwe godaize uskusanai.; — θεὸν ὁμολογοῦσιν εἰδέναι, τοῖς δὲ ἔργοις ἀρνοῦνται, βδελυκτοὶ ὄντες καὶ ἀπειθεῖς καὶ πρὸς πᾶν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἀδόκιμοι.; — They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
