Timothy I 4:1

— τὸ δὲ πνεῦμα ῥητῶς λέγει ὅτι ἐν ὑστέροις καιροῖς ἀποστήσονταί τινες τῆς πίστεως, προσέχοντες πνεύμασιν πλάνοις καὶ διδασκαλίαις δαιμονίων,

— Spiritus autem manifeste dicit, quia in novissimis temporibus discedent quidam a fide, attendentes spiritibus erroris, et doctrinis dæmoniorum,

— Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

— Doch de Geest zegt duidelijk, dat in de laatste tijden sommigen zullen afvallen van het geloof, zich begevende tot verleidende geesten, en leringen der duivelen,

— Mais l'Esprit dit expressément que, dans les derniers temps, quelques-uns abandonneront la foi, pour s'attacher à des esprits séducteurs et à des doctrines de démons,

Timothy I 4:2

— ἐν ὑποκρίσει ψευδολόγων, κεκαυστηριασμένων τὴν ἰδίαν συνείδησιν,

— in hypocrisi loquentium mendacium, et cauteriatam habentium suam conscientiam,

— Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

— Door geveinsdheid der leugensprekers, hebbende hun eigen geweten als met een brandijzer toegeschroeid;

— par l'hypocrisie de faux docteurs portant la marque de la flétrissure dans leur propre conscience,

Timothy I 4:3

^{A + B} warjandane liugos, gaþarban mate, þanzei guþ gaskop du andniman miþ awiliudam galaubjandam jah ufkunnandam sunja.

— κωλυόντων γαμεῖν, ἀπέχεσθαι βρωμάτων ἃ ὁ θεὸς ἔκτισεν εἰς μετάλημψιν μετὰ εὐχαριστίας τοῖς πιστοῖς καὶ ἐπεγνωκόσι τὴν ἀλήθειαν.

— prohibentium nubere, abstinere a cibis, quod Deus creavit ad percipiendum cum gratiarum actione fidelibus, et iis qui cognoverunt veritatem.

— Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

— Verbiedende te huwelijken, gebiedende van spijzen te onthouden, die God geschapen heeft, tot nuttiging met dankzegging, voor de gelovigen, en die de waarheid hebben bekend.

— prescrivant de ne pas se marier, et de s'abstenir d'aliments que Dieu a créés pour qu'ils soient pris avec actions de grâces par ceux qui sont fidèles et qui ont connu la vérité.

Timothy I 4:4

— ὅτι πᾶν κτίσμα θεοῦ καλόν, καὶ οὐδὲν ἀπόβλητον μετὰ εὐχαριστίας λαμβανόμενον,

— Quia omnis creatura Dei bona est, et nihil rejiciendum quod cum gratiarum actione percipitur :

— For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

— Want alle schepsel Gods is goed, en er is niets verwerpelijk, met dankzegging genomen zijnde;

— Car tout ce que Dieu a créé est bon, et rien ne doit être rejeté, pourvu qu'on le prenne avec actions de grâces,

Timothy I 4:5

— ἁγιάζεται γὰρ διὰ λόγου θεοῦ καὶ ἐντεύξεως.

— sanctificatur enim per verbum Dei, et orationem.

— For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

— Want het wordt geheiligd door het Woord van God, en door het gebed.

— parce que tout est sanctifié par la parole de Dieu et par la prière.

Timothy I 4:6

^{A + B} þata insakands broþrum goþs wairþis andbahts Xristaus Iesuis, alands waurdam galaubeinais jah godaizos laiseinais þoei galaistides.

— ταῦτα ὑποτιθέμενος τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καλὸς ἔσῃ διάκονος χριστοῦ ἰησοῦ, ἐντρεφόμενος τοῖς λόγοις τῆς πίστεως καὶ τῆς καλῆς διδασκαλίας ᾗ παρηκολούθηκας:

— Hæc proponens fratribus, bonus eris minister Christi Jesu enutritus verbis fidei, et bonæ doctrinæ, quam assecutus es.

— If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

— Als gij deze dingen den broederen voorstelt, zo zult gij een goed dienaar van Jezus Christus zijn, opgevoed in de woorden des geloofs en der goede leer, welke gij achtervolgd hebt.

— En exposant ces choses au frères, tu seras un bon ministre de Jésus Christ, nourri des paroles de la foi et de la bonne doctrine que tu as exactement suivie.

Timothy I 4:7

— τοὺς δὲ βεβήλους καὶ γραώδεις μύθους παραιτοῦ. γύμναζε δὲ σεαυτὸν πρὸς εὐσέβειαν:

— Ineptas autem, et aniles fabulas devita : exerce autem teipsum ad pietatem.

— But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

— Maar verwerp de ongoddelijke en oudwijfse fabelen; en oefen uzelven tot godzaligheid.

— Repousse les contes profanes et absurdes.

Timothy I 4:8

— ἡ γὰρ σωματικὴ γυμνασία πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶν ὠφέλιμος, ἡ δὲ εὐσέβεια πρὸς πάντα ὠφέλιμός ἐστιν, ἐπαγγελίαν ἔχουσα ζωῆς τῆς νῦν καὶ τῆς μελλούσης.

— Nam corporalis exercitatio, ad modicum utilis est : pietas autem ad omnia utilis est, promissionem habens vitæ, quæ nunc est, et futuræ.

— For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

— Want de lichamelijke oefening is tot weinig nut; maar de godzaligheid is tot alle dingen nut, hebbende de belofte des tegenwoordigen en des toekomenden levens.

— Exerce-toi à la piété; car l'exercice corporel est utile à peu de chose, tandis que la piété est utile à tout, ayant la promesse de la vie présente et de celle qui est à venir.

Timothy I 4:9

— πιστὸς ὁ λόγος καὶ πάσης ἀποδοχῆς ἄξιος:

— Fidelis sermo, et omni acceptione dignus.

— This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

— Dit is een getrouw woord, en alle aanneming waardig.

— C'est là une parole certaine et entièrement digne d'être reçue.

Timothy I 4:10

^B duþþe allis arbaidjam jah idweitjanda, unte wenidedum du guda libandin, saei ist nasjands allaize manne, þishun galaubjandane.

— εἰς τοῦτο γὰρ κοπιῶμεν καὶ ἀγωνιζόμεθα, ὅτι ἠλπίκαμεν ἐπὶ θεῷ ζῶντι, ὅς ἐστιν σωτὴρ πάντων ἀνθρώπων, μάλιστα πιστῶν.

— In hoc enim laboramus, et maledicimur, quia speramus in Deum vivum, qui est Salvator omnium hominum, maxime fidelium.

— For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

— Want hiertoe arbeiden wij ook, en worden versmaad, omdat wij gehoopt hebben op den levenden God, Die een Behouder is aller mensen, maar allermeest der gelovigen.

— Nous travaillons, en effet, et nous combattons, parce que nous mettons notre espérance dans le Dieu vivant, qui est le Sauveur de tous les hommes, principalement des croyants.

Timothy I 4:11

— παράγγελλε ταῦτα καὶ δίδασκε.

— Præcipe hæc, et doce.

— These things command and teach.

— Beveel deze dingen, en leer ze.

— Déclare ces choses, et enseigne-les.

Timothy I 4:12

^B ni manna þeinai jundai frakunni, ak frisahts sijais þaim galaubjandam in waurda, in usmeta, in friaþwai, in galaubeinai, in swikniþai.

— μηδείς σου τῆς νεότητος καταφρονείτω, ἀλλὰ τύπος γίνου τῶν πιστῶν ἐν λόγῳ, ἐν ἀναστροφῇ, ἐν ἀγάπῃ, ἐν πίστει, ἐν ἁγνείᾳ.

— Nemo adolescentiam tuam contemnat : sed exemplum esto fidelium in verbo, in conversatione, in caritate, in fide, in castitate.

— Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

— Niemand verachte uw jonkheid, maar zijt een voorbeeld der gelovigen in woord, in wandel, in liefde, in den geest, in geloof, in reinheid.

— Que personne ne méprise ta jeunesse; mais sois un modèle pour les fidèles, en parole, en conduite, en charité, en foi, en pureté.

Timothy I 4:13

^B unte qima, gaumei saggwa boko, gaþlaihtai, laiseinai.

— ἕως ἔρχομαι πρόσεχε τῇ ἀναγνώσει, τῇ παρακλήσει, τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ.

— Dum venio, attende lectioni, exhortationi, et doctrinæ.

— Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

— Houd aan in het lezen, in het vermanen, in het leren, totdat ik kome.

— Jusqu'à ce que je vienne, applique-toi à la lecture, à l'exhortation, à l'enseignement.

Timothy I 4:14

^B ni sijais unkarja þizos in þus anstais, sei gibana warþ þus þairh praufetjans afar analageinai handiwe praizbwtairei<n>s.

— μὴ ἀμέλει τοῦ ἐν σοὶ χαρίσματος, ὃ ἐδόθη σοι διὰ προφητείας μετὰ ἐπιθέσεως τῶν χειρῶν τοῦ πρεσβυτερίου.

— Noli negligere gratiam, quæ in te est, quæ data est tibi per prophetiam, cum impositione manuum presbyterii.

— Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

— Verzuim de gave niet, die in u is, die u gegeven is door de profetie, met oplegging der handen des ouderlingschaps.

— Ne néglige pas le don qui est en toi, et qui t'a été donné par prophétie avec l'imposition des mains de l'assemblée des anciens.

Timothy I 4:15

^B þo sido þus, inuþ~þaim sijais, ei þatei þeihais þu, swikunþ sijai allaim.

— ταῦτα μελέτα, ἐν τούτοις ἴσθι, ἵνα σου ἡ προκοπὴ φανερὰ ᾖ πᾶσιν.

— Hæc meditare, in his esto : ut profectus tuus manifestus sit omnibus.

— Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

— Bedenk deze dingen, wees hierin bezig, opdat uw toenemen openbaar zij in alles.

— Occupe-toi de ces choses, donne-toi tout entier à elles, afin que tes progrès soient évidents pour tous.

Timothy I 4:16

^B atsaiƕ du þus silbin jah du laiseinai usdaudo, þairhwis in þaim; þatuh auk taujands jah þuk silban ganasjis jah hausjandans þus.

— ἔπεχε σεαυτῷ καὶ τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ: ἐπίμενε αὐτοῖς: τοῦτο γὰρ ποιῶν καὶ σεαυτὸν σώσεις καὶ τοὺς ἀκούοντάς σου.

— Attende tibi, et doctrinæ : insta in illis. Hoc enim faciens, et teipsum salvum facies, et eos qui te audiunt.

— Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

— Heb acht op uzelven en op de leer; volhard daarin; want dat doende, zult gij en uzelven behouden, en die u horen.

— Veille sur toi-même et sur ton enseignement; persévère dans ces choses, car, en agissant ainsi, tu te sauveras toi-même, et tu sauveras ceux qui t'écoutent.
