Corinthians II chapter 8

Corinthians II 8:1: ^A Aþþan kannja izwis, broþrjus, anst gudis þo gibanon in aikklesjom Makidonais,; ^B Aþþan kannja izwis, broþrjus, anst gudis þo gibanon in aikklesjon Makidonais,; — γνωρίζομεν δὲ ὑμῖν, ἀδελφοί, τὴν χάριν τοῦ θεοῦ τὴν δεδομένην ἐν ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς μακεδονίας,; — Notam autem facimus vobis, fratres, gratiam Dei, quæ data est in ecclesiis Macedoniæ :; — Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;; — Voorts maken wij u bekend, broeders, de genade van God, die in de Gemeenten van Macedonie gegeven is.; — Nous vous faisons connaître, frères, la grâce de Dieu qui s'est manifestée dans les Églises de la Macédoine.
Corinthians II 8:2: ^A þatei in managamma kustau aglons managduþs fahedais ize jaþ~þata diupo unledi ize usmanagnoda du gabein ainfalþeins ize.; ^B þatei in managamma kustau aglons managduþs fahedais ize jah þata diupo unledi ize usmanagnoda du gabein ainfalþeins ize.; — ὅτι ἐν πολλῇ δοκιμῇ θλίψεως ἡ περισσεία τῆς χαρᾶς αὐτῶν καὶ ἡ κατὰ βάθους πτωχεία αὐτῶν ἐπερίσσευσεν εἰς τὸ πλοῦτος τῆς ἁπλότητος αὐτῶν:; — quod in multo experimento tribulationis abundantia gaudii ipsorum fuit, et altissima paupertas eorum, abundavit in divitias simplicitatis eorum :; — How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.; — Dat in vele beproeving der verdrukking de overvloed hunner blijdschap, en hun zeer diepe armoede overvloedig geweest is tot den rijkdom hunner goeddadigheid.; — Au milieu de beaucoup de tribulations qui les ont éprouvées, leur joie débordante et leur pauvreté profonde ont produit avec abondance de riches libéralités de leur part.
Corinthians II 8:3: ^A unte bi mahtai, weitwodja, jah ufar maht silbawiljos wesun,; ^B unte bi mahtai, weitwodja, jah ufar maht silbawiljos wesun,; — ὅτι κατὰ δύναμιν, μαρτυρῶ, καὶ παρὰ δύναμιν, αὐθαίρετοι; — quia secundum virtutem testimonium illis reddo, et supra virtutem voluntarii fuerunt,; — For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;; — Want zij zijn naar vermogen (ik betuig het), ja, boven vermogen gewillig geweest;; — Ils ont, je l'atteste, donné volontairement selon leurs moyens, et même au delà de leurs moyens,
Corinthians II 8:4: ^A miþ managai usbloteinai bidjandans uns niman anst seina jah gamainein andbahtjis in þans weihans.; ^B miþ managai usbloteinai bidjandans uns niman anst seina jah gamainein andbahtjis in þans weihans.; — μετὰ πολλῆς παρακλήσεως δεόμενοι ἡμῶν τὴν χάριν καὶ τὴν κοινωνίαν τῆς διακονίας τῆς εἰς τοὺς ἁγίους –; — cum multa exhortatione obsecrantes nos gratiam, et communicationem ministerii, quod fit in sanctos.; — Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.; — Ons met vele vermaning biddende, dat wij wilden aannemen de gave en de gemeenschap dezer bediening, die voor de heiligen geschiedt.; — nous demandant avec de grandes instances la grâce de prendre part à l'assistance destinée aux saints.
Corinthians II 8:5: ^A jaþ~ni swaswe wenidedum, ak sik silbans atgebun frumist fraujin, þaþroþ~þan uns þairh wiljan gudis,; ^B jah ni swaswe wenidedum, ak sik silbans atgebun frumist fraujin, þaþroh þan uns þairh wiljan gudis,; — καὶ οὐ καθὼς ἠλπίσαμεν ἀλλὰ ἑαυτοὺς ἔδωκαν πρῶτον τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἡμῖν διὰ θελήματος θεοῦ,; — Et non sicut speravimus, sed semetipsos dederunt primum Domino, deinde nobis per voluntatem Dei,; — And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.; — En zij deden niet alleen, gelijk wij gehoopt hadden, maar gaven zichzelven eerst aan den Heere en daarna aan ons, door den wil van God.; — Et non seulement ils ont contribué comme nous l'espérions, mais ils se sont d'abord donnés eux-mêmes au Seigneur, puis à nous, par la volonté de Dieu.
Corinthians II 8:6: ^{A + B} swaei bedeima Teitaun, ei swaswe faura dustodida, swah ustiuhai in izwis jah þo anst.; — εἰς τὸ παρακαλέσαι ἡμᾶς τίτον ἵνα καθὼς προενήρξατο οὕτως καὶ ἐπιτελέσῃ εἰς ὑμᾶς καὶ τὴν χάριν ταύτην.; — ita ut rogaremus Titum, ut quemadmodum cœpit, ita et perficiat in vobis etiam gratiam istam.; — Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.; — Alzo dat wij Titus vermaanden, dat, gelijk hij te voren begonnen had, hij ook alzo nog deze gave bij u voleinden zou.; — Nous avons donc engagé Tite à achever chez vous cette oeuvre de bienfaisance, comme il l'avait commencée.
Corinthians II 8:7: ^A akei swe raihtis in allamma managniþ, galaubeinai jah waurda jah kunþja jah in allai usdaudein jah ana þizai us izwis in uns frijaþwai, ei jah in þizai anstai managnaiþ.; ^B akei swe raihtis in allamma managniþ, galaubeinai jah waurda jah kunþja jah in allai usdaudein jah ana þizai us izwis in uns friaþwai, ei jah in þizai anstai managnaiþ.; — ἀλλ' ὥσπερ ἐν παντὶ περισσεύετε, πίστει καὶ λόγῳ καὶ γνώσει καὶ πάσῃ σπουδῇ καὶ τῇ ἐξ ἡμῶν ἐν ὑμῖν ἀγάπῃ, ἵνα καὶ ἐν ταύτῃ τῇ χάριτι περισσεύητε.; — Sed sicut in omnibus abundatis fide, et sermone, et scientia, et omni sollicitudine, insuper et caritate vestra in nos, ut et in hac gratia abundetis.; — Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.; — Zo dan, gelijk gij in alles overvloedig zijt, in geloof, en in woord, en in kennis, en in alle naarstigheid, en in uw liefde tot ons, ziet, dat gij ook in deze gave overvloedig zijt.; — De même que vous excellez en toutes choses, en foi, en parole, en connaissance, en zèle à tous égards, et dans votre amour pour nous, faites en sorte d'exceller aussi dans cette oeuvre de bienfaisance.
Corinthians II 8:8: ^A ni swaswe fraujinonds qiþa izwis, ak in þizos anþaraize usdaudeins jah izwaraizos frijaþwos airkniþa kiusands.; ^B ni swaswe fraujinonds qiþa izwis, ak in þizos anþaraize usdaudeins jah izwaraizos friaþwos airkniþa kiusands.; — οὐ κατ' ἐπιταγὴν λέγω, ἀλλὰ διὰ τῆς ἑτέρων σπουδῆς καὶ τὸ τῆς ὑμετέρας ἀγάπης γνήσιον δοκιμάζων:; — Non quasi imperans dico : sed per aliorum sollicitudinem, etiam vestræ caritatis ingenium bonum comprobans.; — I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.; — Ik zeg dit niet als gebiedende, maar als door de naarstigheid van anderen ook de oprechtheid uwer liefde beproevende.; — Je ne dis pas cela pour donner un ordre, mais pour éprouver, par le zèle des autres, la sincérité de votre charité.
Corinthians II 8:9: ^A unte kunnuþ anst fraujins unsaris Iesuis Xristaus, þatei in izwara gaunledida sik gabigs wisands, ei jus þamma is unledja gabigai wairþaiþ.; ^B unte kunnuþ anst fraujins unsaris Iesuis Xristaus, þatei in izwara gaunledida sik gabigs wisands, ei jus þamma is unledja gabeigai wairþaiþ.; — γινώσκετε γὰρ τὴν χάριν τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ, ὅτι δι' ὑμᾶς ἐπτώχευσεν πλούσιος ὤν, ἵνα ὑμεῖς τῇ ἐκείνου πτωχείᾳ πλουτήσητε.; — Scitis enim gratiam Domini nostri Jesu Christi, quoniam propter vos egenus factus est, cum esset dives, ut illius inopia vos divites essetis.; — For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.; — Want gij weet de genade van onzen Heere Jezus Christus, dat Hij om uwentwil is arm geworden, daar Hij rijk was, opdat gij door Zijn armoede zoudt rijk worden.; — Car vous connaissez la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, qui pour vous s'est fait pauvre, de riche qu'il était, afin que par sa pauvreté vous fussiez enrichis.
Corinthians II 8:10: ^A jar~ragin in þamma giba, unte þata izwis batizo ist, juzei ni þatainei taujan, ak jah wiljan dugunnuþ af fairnin jera.; ^B jah ragin in þamma giba, unte þata izwis batizo ist, juzei ni þatainei wiljan, ak jah taujan dugunnuþ af fairnin jera.; — καὶ γνώμην ἐν τούτῳ δίδωμι: τοῦτο γὰρ ὑμῖν συμφέρει, οἵτινες οὐ μόνον τὸ ποιῆσαι ἀλλὰ καὶ τὸ θέλειν προενήρξασθε ἀπὸ πέρυσι:; — Et consilium in hoc do : hoc enim vobis utile est, qui non solum facere, sed et velle cœpistis ab anno priore :; — And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.; — En ik zeg in dezen mijn mening; want dit is u oorbaar, als die niet alleen het doen, maar ook het willen van over een jaar te voren hebt begonnen.; — C'est un avis que je donne là-dessus, car cela vous convient, à vous qui non seulement avez commencé à agir, mais qui en avez eu la volonté dès l'année dernière.
Corinthians II 8:11: ^{A + B} iþ nu sai, jah taujan ustiuhaiþ, ei swaswe fauraïst muns du wiljan, swa jah du ustiuhan us þammei habaiþ.; — νυνὶ δὲ καὶ τὸ ποιῆσαι ἐπιτελέσατε, ὅπως καθάπερ ἡ προθυμία τοῦ θέλειν οὕτως καὶ τὸ ἐπιτελέσαι ἐκ τοῦ ἔχειν.; — nunc vero et facto perficite : ut quemadmodum promptus est animus voluntatis, ita sit et perficiendi ex eo quod habetis.; — Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.; — Maar nu voleindigt ook het doen; opdat, gelijk als er geweest is de volvaardigheid des gemoeds om te willen, er ook alzo zij het voleindigen uit hetgeen gij hebt.; — Achevez donc maintenant d'agir, afin que l'accomplissement selon vos moyens réponde à l'empressement que vous avez mis à vouloir.
Corinthians II 8:12: ^A jabai auk wilja in gagreftai ist, swaswe habai, waila andanem ist, ni swaswe ni habai.; ^B jabai auk wilja in gagreiftai ist, swaswe habai, waila andanem ist, ni swaswe ni habai.; — εἰ γὰρ ἡ προθυμία πρόκειται, καθὸ ἐὰν ἔχῃ εὐπρόσδεκτος, οὐ καθὸ οὐκ ἔχει.; — Si enim voluntas prompta est, secundum id quod habet, accepta est, non secundum id quod non habet.; — For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.; — Want indien te voren de volvaardigheid des gemoeds daar is, zo is iemand aangenaam naar hetgeen hij heeft, niet naar hetgeen hij niet heeft.; — La bonne volonté, quand elle existe, est agréable en raison de ce qu'elle peut avoir à sa disposition, et non de ce qu'elle n'a pas.
Corinthians II 8:13: ^{A + B} ni swa auk ei anþaraim iusila, iþ izwis aglo, ak us ibnassau;; — οὐ γὰρ ἵνα ἄλλοις ἄνεσις, ὑμῖν θλῖψις: ἀλλ' ἐξ ἰσότητος; — Non enim ut aliis sit remissio, vobis autem tribulatio, sed ex æqualitate.; — For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:; — Want dit zeg ik niet, opdat anderen zouden verlichting hebben, en gij verdrukking;; — Car il s'agit, non de vous exposer à la détresse pour soulager les autres, mais de suivre une règle d'égalité: dans la circonstance présente votre superflu pourvoira à leurs besoins,
Corinthians II 8:14: ^A in þamma nu mela izwar ufarassus du jainaize þarbom, ei jah jainaize ufarassus wairþai du izwaraim þarbom, ei wairþai ibnassus,; ^B in þamma nu mela izwar ufarassus du jainaize þarbom, ei jah jainaize ufarassus wairþai du izwaraim þarbom, ei wairþai ibnassus,; — ἐν τῷ νῦν καιρῷ τὸ ὑμῶν περίσσευμα εἰς τὸ ἐκείνων ὑστέρημα, ἵνα καὶ τὸ ἐκείνων περίσσευμα γένηται εἰς τὸ ὑμῶν ὑστέρημα, ὅπως γένηται ἰσότης:; — In præsenti tempore vestra abundantia illorum inopiam suppleat : ut et illorum abundantia vestræ inopiæ sit supplementum, ut fiat æqualitas, sicut scriptum est :; — But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:; — Maar opdat uit gelijkheid, in dezen tegenwoordigen tijd, uw overvloed zij om hun gebrek te vervullen; opdat ook hun overvloed zij om uw gebrek te vervullen, opdat er gelijkheid worde.; — afin que leur superflu pourvoie pareillement aux vôtres, en sorte qu'il y ait égalité,
Corinthians II 8:15: ^A swaswe gameliþ ist: jas~saei filu, ni managizo, jah saei leitil, ni fawizo.; ^B swaswe gameliþ ist: saei filu, ni managizo, jah saei leitil, ni fawizo.; — καθὼς γέγραπται, ὁ τὸ πολὺ οὐκ ἐπλεόνασεν, καὶ ὁ τὸ ὀλίγον οὐκ ἠλαττόνησεν.; — Qui multum, non abundavit : et qui modicum, non minoravit.; — As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.; — Gelijk geschreven is: Die veel verzameld had, had niet over; en die weinig verzameld had, had niet te weinig.; — selon qu'il est écrit: Celui qui avait ramassé beaucoup n'avait rien de trop, et celui qui avait ramassé peu n'en manquait pas.
Corinthians II 8:16: ^A aþþan awiliuþ guda, ize gaf þo samon usdaudein faur izwis in hairto Teitaus;; ^B aþþan awiliud guda, izei gaf þo samon usdaudein faur izwis in hairto Teitaus;; — χάρις δὲ τῷ θεῷ τῷ δόντι τὴν αὐτὴν σπουδὴν ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ τίτου,; — Gratias autem Deo, qui dedit eamdem sollicitudinem pro vobis in corde Titi,; — But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.; — Doch Gode zij dank, Die dezelfde naarstigheid voor u in het hart van Titus gegeven heeft;; — Grâces soient rendues à Dieu de ce qu'il a mis dans le coeur de Tite le même empressement pour vous;
Corinthians II 8:17: ^{A + B} unte raihtis bida andnam, aþþan usdaudoza wisands silba wiljands galaiþ du izwis.; — ὅτι τὴν μὲν παράκλησιν ἐδέξατο, σπουδαιότερος δὲ ὑπάρχων αὐθαίρετος ἐξῆλθεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς.; — quoniam exhortationem quidem suscepit : sed cum sollicitior esset, sua voluntate profectus est ad vos.; — For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.; — Dat hij de vermaning heeft aangenomen, en zeer naarstig zijnde, gewillig tot u gereisd is.; — car il a accueilli notre demande, et c'est avec un nouveau zèle et de son plein gré qu'il part pour aller chez vous.
Corinthians II 8:18: ^A gah~þan~miþ~[ga]sandidedum imma broþar; þizei hazeins in aiwaggeljons and allos aikklesjons.; ^B gaþ~þan~miþ~sandidedum imma broþar; þizei hazeins in aiwaggeljon and allos aikklesjons.; — συνεπέμψαμεν δὲ μετ' αὐτοῦ τὸν ἀδελφὸν οὗ ὁ ἔπαινος ἐν τῷ εὐαγγελίῳ διὰ πασῶν τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν; — Misimus etiam cum illo fratrem, cujus laus est in Evangelio per omnes ecclesias :; — And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches;; — En wij hebben ook met hem gezonden den broeder, die lof heeft in het Evangelie door al de Gemeenten;; — Nous envoyons avec lui le frère dont la louange en ce qui concerne l'Évangile est répandue dans toutes les Églises,
Corinthians II 8:19: ^{A + B} aþþan ni þat~ain, ak jah gatewiþs fram aikklesjom miþ gasinþam uns miþ anstai þizai andbahtidon fram uns du fraujins wulþau jah gairnein unsarai;; — – οὐ μόνον δὲ ἀλλὰ καὶ χειροτονηθεὶς ὑπὸ τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν συνέκδημος ἡμῶν σὺν τῇ χάριτι ταύτῃ τῇ διακονουμένῃ ὑφ' ἡμῶν πρὸς τὴν [αὐτοῦ] τοῦ κυρίου δόξαν καὶ προθυμίαν ἡμῶν –; — non solum autem, sed et ordinatus est ab ecclesiis comes peregrinationis nostræ in hanc gratiam, quæ ministratur a nobis ad Domini gloriam, et destinatam voluntatem nostram :; — And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:; — En dat niet alleen, maar hij is ook van de Gemeenten verkoren, om met ons te reizen met deze gave, die van ons bediend wordt tot de heerlijkheid des Heeren Zelven, en de volvaardigheid uws gemoeds;; — et qui, de plus, a été choisi par les Églises pour être notre compagnon de voyage dans cette oeuvre de bienfaisance, que nous accomplissons à la gloire du Seigneur même et en témoignage de notre bonne volonté.
Corinthians II 8:20: ^{A + B} biwandjandans þata, ibai ƕas uns fairinodedi in digrein þizai andbahtidon fram uns;; — στελλόμενοι τοῦτο μή τις ἡμᾶς μωμήσηται ἐν τῇ ἁδρότητι ταύτῃ τῇ διακονουμένῃ ὑφ' ἡμῶν:; — devitantes hoc, ne quis nos vituperet in hac plenitudine, quæ ministratur a nobis.; — Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:; — Dit verhoedende, dat ons niemand moge lasteren in dezen overvloed, die van ons wordt bediend;; — Nous agissons ainsi, afin que personne ne nous blâme au sujet de cette abondante collecte, à laquelle nous donnons nos soins;
Corinthians II 8:21: ^{A + B} garedandans auk goda ni þatainei in andwairþja gudis, ak jah in andwairþja manne.; — προνοοῦμεν γὰρ καλὰ οὐ μόνον ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐνώπιον ἀνθρώπων.; — Providemus enim bona non solum coram Deo, sed etiam coram hominibus.; — Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.; — Als die bezorgen, hetgeen eerlijk is, niet alleen voor den Heere, maar ook voor de mensen.; — car nous recherchons ce qui est bien, non seulement devant le Seigneur, mais aussi devant les hommes.
Corinthians II 8:22: ^A insandidedum þan miþ im broþar unsarana þanei gakausidedum in managaim ufta usdaudana wisandan, aþþan nu, sai, filu usdaudozan trauainai managai in izwis;; ^B insandidedum þan miþ im broþar unsarana þanei gakausidedum in managaim ufta usdaudana wisandan, aþþan nu, sai, filaus mais usdaudozan trauainai managai in izwis;; — συνεπέμψαμεν δὲ αὐτοῖς τὸν ἀδελφὸν ἡμῶν ὃν ἐδοκιμάσαμεν ἐν πολλοῖς πολλάκις σπουδαῖον ὄντα, νυνὶ δὲ πολὺ σπουδαιότερον πεποιθήσει πολλῇ τῇ εἰς ὑμᾶς.; — Misimus autem cum illis et fratrem nostrum, quem probavimus in multis sæpe sollicitum esse : nunc autem multo sollicitiorem, confidentia multa in vos,; — And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you.; — Wij hebben ook met hen gezonden onzen broeder, welken wij in vele dingen dikmaals beproefd hebben, dat hij naarstig is; en nu veel naarstiger, door het groot vertrouwen, dat hij heeft tot ulieden.; — Nous envoyons avec eux notre frère, dont nous avons souvent éprouvé le zèle dans beaucoup d'occasions, et qui en montre plus encore cette fois à cause de sa grande confiance en vous.
Corinthians II 8:23: ^A jah þe bi Teitu, saei ist gaman mein jag~gawaurstwa in izwis; jaþþe broþrjus unsarai apaustauleis aikklesjono, wulþaus Xristaus.; ^B jaþ~þe bi Teitu, saei ist gaman mein jah gawaurstwa in izwis; jaþþe broþrjus unsarai apaustauleis aikklesjono, wulþus Xristaus.; — εἴτε ὑπὲρ τίτου, κοινωνὸς ἐμὸς καὶ εἰς ὑμᾶς συνεργός: εἴτε ἀδελφοὶ ἡμῶν, ἀπόστολοι ἐκκλησιῶν, δόξα χριστοῦ.; — sive pro Tito, qui est socius meus, et in vos adjutor, sive fratres nostri, Apostoli ecclesiarum, gloria Christi.; — Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.; — Hetzij dan Titus, hij is mijn metgezel en medearbeider bij u; hetzij onze broeders, zij zijn afgezanten der Gemeenten, en een eer van Christus.; — Ainsi, pour ce qui est de Tite, il est notre associé et notre compagnon d'oeuvre auprès de vous; et pour ce qui est de nos frères, ils sont les envoyés des Églises, la gloire de Christ.
