John chapter 17

John 17:1

^CA Þata rodida Iesus uzuhhof augona seina du himina jah qaþ: atta, qam ƕeila, hauhei þeinana sunu, ei sunus þeins hauhjai þuk;

— ταῦτα ἐλάλησεν ἰησοῦς, καὶ ἐπάρας τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν εἶπεν, πάτερ, ἐλήλυθεν ἡ ὥρα: δόξασόν σου τὸν υἱόν, ἵνα ὁ υἱὸς δοξάσῃ σέ,

— Hæc locutus est Jesus : et sublevatis oculis in cælum, dixit : Pater, venit hora : clarifica Filium tuum, ut Filius tuus clarificet te :

— These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

— Dit heeft Jezus gesproken, en Hij hief Zijn ogen op naar den hemel, en zeide: Vader, de ure is gekomen, verheerlijk Uw Zoon, opdat ook Uw Zoon U verheerlijke.

— Après avoir ainsi parlé, Jésus leva les yeux au ciel, et dit: Père, l'heure est venue! Glorifie ton Fils, afin que ton Fils te glorifie,

John 17:2

^CA swaswe atgaft imma waldufni allaize leike, ei all þatei atgaft imma, gibai im libain aiweinon.

— καθὼς ἔδωκας αὐτῷ ἐξουσίαν πάσης σαρκός, ἵνα πᾶν ὃ δέδωκας αὐτῷ δώσῃ αὐτοῖς ζωὴν αἰώνιον.

— sicut dedisti ei potestatem omnis carnis, ut omne, quod dedisti ei, det eis vitam æternam.

— As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

— Gelijkerwijs Gij Hem macht gegeven hebt over alle vlees, opdat al wat Gij Hem gegeven hebt, Hij hun het eeuwige leven geve.

— selon que tu lui as donné pouvoir sur toute chair, afin qu'il accorde la vie éternelle à tous ceux que tu lui as donnés.

John 17:3

^CA soh þan ist so aiweino libains, ei kunneina þuk ainana sunjana guþ jah þanei insandides, Iesu Xristu.

— αὕτη δέ ἐστιν ἡ αἰώνιος ζωή, ἵνα γινώσκωσιν σὲ τὸν μόνον ἀληθινὸν θεὸν καὶ ὃν ἀπέστειλας ἰησοῦν χριστόν.

— Hæc est autem vita æterna : ut cognoscant te, solum Deum verum, et quem misisti Jesum Christum.

— And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

— En dit is het eeuwige leven, dat zij U kennen, den enigen waarachtigen God, en Jezus Christus, Dien Gij gezonden hebt.

— Or, la vie éternelle, c'est qu'ils te connaissent, toi, le seul vrai Dieu, et celui que tu as envoyé, Jésus Christ.

John 17:4

^CA ik þuk hauhida ana airþai; waurstw ustauh þatei atgaft mis du waurkjan.

— ἐγώ σε ἐδόξασα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, τὸ ἔργον τελειώσας ὃ δέδωκάς μοι ἵνα ποιήσω:

— Ego te clarificavi super terram : opus consummavi, quod dedisti mihi ut faciam :

— I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

— Ik heb U verheerlijkt op de aarde; Ik heb voleindigd het werk, dat Gij Mij gegeven hebt om te doen;

— Je t'ai glorifié sur la terre, j'ai achevé l'oeuvre que tu m'as donnée à faire.

John 17:5

^CA jah nu hauhei mik, þu atta, at þus silbin þamma wulþau, þanei habaida at þus, faurþizei sa fairƕus wesi.

— καὶ νῦν δόξασόν με σύ, πάτερ, παρὰ σεαυτῷ τῇ δόξῃ ᾗ εἶχον πρὸ τοῦ τὸν κόσμον εἶναι παρὰ σοί.

— et nunc clarifica me tu, Pater, apud temetipsum, claritate quam habui, priusquam mundus esset, apud te.

— And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

— En nu verheerlijk Mij, Gij Vader, bij Uzelven, met de heerlijkheid, die Ik bij U had, eer de wereld was.

— Et maintenant toi, Père, glorifie-moi auprès de toi-même de la gloire que j'avais auprès de toi avant que le monde fût.

John 17:6

^CA gabairhtida þeinata namo mannam þanzei atgaft mis us þamma fairƕau. þeinai wesun jah mis atgaft ins, jah þata waurd þeinata gafastaidedun.

— ἐφανέρωσά σου τὸ ὄνομα τοῖς ἀνθρώποις οὓς ἔδωκάς μοι ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου. σοὶ ἦσαν κἀμοὶ αὐτοὺς ἔδωκας, καὶ τὸν λόγον σου τετήρηκαν.

— Manifestavi nomen tuum hominibus, quos dedisti mihi de mundo : tui erant, et mihi eos dedisti : et sermonem tuum servaverunt.

— I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

— Ik heb Uw Naam geopenbaard den mensen, die Gij Mij uit de wereld gegeven hebt. Zij waren Uw, en Gij hebt Mij dezelve gegeven; en zij hebben Uw woord bewaard.

— J'ai fait connaître ton nom aux hommes que tu m'as donnés du milieu du monde. Ils étaient à toi, et tu me les as donnés; et ils ont gardé ta parole.

John 17:7

^CA nu ufkunþa ei alla þoei atgaft mis, at þus sind;

— νῦν ἔγνωκαν ὅτι πάντα ὅσα δέδωκάς μοι παρὰ σοῦ εἰσιν:

— Nunc cognoverunt quia omnia quæ dedisti mihi, abs te sunt :

— Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

— Nu hebben zij bekend, dat alles, wat Gij Mij gegeven hebt, van U is.

— Maintenant ils ont connu que tout ce que tu m'as donné vient de toi.

John 17:8

^CA unte þo waurda þoei atgaft mis, atgaf im, jah eis nemun bi sunjai þatei fram þus urrann, jah galaubidedun þatei þu mik insandides.

— ὅτι τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἔδωκάς μοι δέδωκα αὐτοῖς, καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔλαβον καὶ ἔγνωσαν ἀληθῶς ὅτι παρὰ σοῦ ἐξῆλθον, καὶ ἐπίστευσαν ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας.

— quia verba quæ dedisti mihi, dedi eis : et ipsi acceperunt, et cognoverunt vere quia a te exivi, et crediderunt quia tu me misisti.

— For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

— Want de woorden, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt, heb Ik hun gegeven, en zij hebben ze ontvangen, en zij hebben waarlijk bekend, dat Ik van U uitgegaan ben, en hebben geloofd, dat Gij Mij gezonden hebt.

— Car je leur ai donné les paroles que tu m'as données; et ils les ont reçues, et ils ont vraiment connu que je suis sorti de toi, et ils ont cru que tu m'as envoyé.

John 17:9

^CA ik bi ins bidja; ni bi þo manaseþ bidja, ak bi þans þanzei atgaft mis, unte þeinai sind.

— ἐγὼ περὶ αὐτῶν ἐρωτῶ: οὐ περὶ τοῦ κόσμου ἐρωτῶ ἀλλὰ περὶ ὧν δέδωκάς μοι, ὅτι σοί εἰσιν,

— Ego pro eis rogo ; non pro mundo rogo, sed pro his quos dedisti mihi : quia tui sunt :

— I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

— Ik bid voor hen; Ik bid niet voor de wereld, maar voor degenen, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt, want zij zijn Uw.

— C'est pour eux que je prie. Je ne prie pas pour le monde, mais pour ceux que tu m'as donnés, parce qu'ils sont à toi; -

John 17:10

^CA jah meina alla þeina sind jah þeina meina, jah hauhiþs im in þaim.

— καὶ τὰ ἐμὰ πάντα σά ἐστιν καὶ τὰ σὰ ἐμά, καὶ δεδόξασμαι ἐν αὐτοῖς.

— et mea omnia tua sunt, et tua mea sunt : et clarificatus sum in eis.

— And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

— En al het Mijne is Uw, en het Uwe is Mijn; en Ik ben in hen verheerlijkt.

— et tout ce qui est à moi est à toi, et ce qui est à toi est à moi; -et je suis glorifié en eux.

John 17:11

^CA ni þanaseiþs im in þamma fairƕau; iþ þai in þamma fairƕau sind, jah ik du þus gagga. atta weiha, fastai ins in namin þeinamma, þanzei atgaft mis, ei sijaina ain swaswe wit.

— καὶ οὐκέτι εἰμὶ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ, καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ εἰσίν, κἀγὼ πρὸς σὲ ἔρχομαι. πάτερ ἅγιε, τήρησον αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου ᾧ δέδωκάς μοι, ἵνα ὦσιν ἓν καθὼς ἡμεῖς.

— Et jam non sum in mundo, et hi in mundo sunt, et ego ad te venio. Pater sancte, serva eos in nomine tuo, quos dedisti mihi : ut sint unum, sicut et nos.

— And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

— En Ik ben niet meer in de wereld, maar deze zijn in de wereld, en Ik kome tot U, Heilige Vader, bewaar ze in Uw Naam, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt, opdat zij een zijn, gelijk als Wij.

— Je ne suis plus dans le monde, et ils sont dans le monde, et je vais à toi. Père saint, garde en ton nom ceux que tu m'as donnés, afin qu'ils soient un comme nous.

John 17:12

^CA þan was miþ im in þamma fairƕau, ik fastaida ins in namin þeinamma. þanzei atgaft mis gafastaida, jah ainshun us im ni fraqistnoda, niba sa sunus fralustais, ei þata gamelido usfulliþ waurþi.

— ὅτε ἤμην μετ' αὐτῶν ἐγὼ ἐτήρουν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου ᾧ δέδωκάς μοι, καὶ ἐφύλαξα, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀπώλετο εἰ μὴ ὁ υἱὸς τῆς ἀπωλείας, ἵνα ἡ γραφὴ πληρωθῇ.

— Cum essem cum eis, ego servabam eos in nomine tuo. Quos dedisti mihi, custodivi : et nemo ex eis periit, nisi filius perditionis, ut Scriptura impleatur.

— While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

— Toen Ik met hen in de wereld was, bewaarde Ik ze in Uw Naam. Die Gij Mij gegeven hebt, heb Ik bewaard, en niemand uit hen is verloren gegaan, dan de zoon der verderfenis, opdat de Schrift vervuld worde.

— Lorsque j'étais avec eux dans le monde, je les gardais en ton nom. J'ai gardé ceux que tu m'as donnés, et aucun d'eux ne s'est perdu, sinon le fils de perdition, afin que l'Écriture fût accomplie.

John 17:13

^CA iþ nu du þus gagga, jah þata rodja in manasedai, ei habaina fahed meina usfullida in sis.

— νῦν δὲ πρὸς σὲ ἔρχομαι, καὶ ταῦτα λαλῶ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ ἵνα ἔχωσιν τὴν χαρὰν τὴν ἐμὴν πεπληρωμένην ἐν ἑαυτοῖς.

— Nunc autem ad te venio : et hæc loquor in mundo, ut habeant gaudium meum impletum in semetipsis.

— And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

— Maar nu kom Ik tot U, en spreek dit in de wereld, opdat zij Mijn blijdschap vervuld mogen hebben in zichzelven.

— Et maintenant je vais à toi, et je dis ces choses dans le monde, afin qu'ils aient en eux ma joie parfaite.

John 17:14

^CA ik atgaf im waurd þeinata; jah so manaseþs fijaida ins, unte ni sind us þamma fairƕau, swaswe ik us þamma fairƕau ni im.

— ἐγὼ δέδωκα αὐτοῖς τὸν λόγον σου, καὶ ὁ κόσμος ἐμίσησεν αὐτούς, ὅτι οὐκ εἰσὶν ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου καθὼς ἐγὼ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου.

— Ego dedi eis sermonem tuum, et mundus eos odio habuit, quia non sunt de mundo, sicut et ego non sum de mundo.

— I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

— Ik heb hun Uw woord gegeven; en de wereld heeft ze gehaat, omdat zij van de wereld niet zijn, gelijk als Ik van de wereld niet ben.

— Je leur ai donné ta parole; et le monde les a haïs, parce qu'ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi je ne suis pas du monde.

John 17:15

^CA ni bidja ei usnimais ins us þamma fairƕau, ak ei bairgais im faura þamma unseljin.

— οὐκ ἐρωτῶ ἵνα ἄρῃς αὐτοὺς ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου ἀλλ' ἵνα τηρήσῃς αὐτοὺς ἐκ τοῦ πονηροῦ.

— Non rogo ut tollas eos de mundo, sed ut serves eos a malo.

— I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

— Ik bid niet, dat Gij hen uit de wereld wegneemt, maar dat Gij hen bewaart van den boze.

— Je ne te prie pas de les ôter du monde, mais de les préserver du mal.

John 17:16

^CA us þamma fairƕau ni sind, swaswe ik us þamma fairƕau ni im.

— ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου οὐκ εἰσὶν καθὼς ἐγὼ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου.

— De mundo non sunt, sicut et ego non sum de mundo.

— They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

— Zij zijn niet van de wereld, gelijkerwijs Ik van de wereld niet ben.

— Ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi je ne suis pas du monde.

John 17:17

^CA weihai ins in sunjai; waurd þeinata sunja ist.

— ἁγίασον αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἀληθείᾳ: ὁ λόγος ὁ σὸς ἀλήθειά ἐστιν.

— Sanctifica eos in veritate. Sermo tuus veritas est.

— Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

— Heilig ze in Uw waarheid; Uw woord is de waarheid.

— Sanctifie-les par ta vérité: ta parole est la vérité.

John 17:18

^CA swaswe mik insandides in manaseþ, swah ik insandida ins in þo manased.

— καθὼς ἐμὲ ἀπέστειλας εἰς τὸν κόσμον, κἀγὼ ἀπέστειλα αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν κόσμον:

— Sicut tu me misisti in mundum, et ego misi eos in mundum :

— As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

— Gelijkerwijs Gij Mij gezonden hebt in de wereld, alzo heb Ik hen ook in de wereld gezonden.

— Comme tu m'as envoyé dans le monde, je les ai aussi envoyés dans le monde.

John 17:19

^CA jah fram im ik weiha mik silban, ei sijaina jah eis weihai in sunjai.

— καὶ ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν ἐγὼ ἁγιάζω ἐμαυτόν, ἵνα ὦσιν καὶ αὐτοὶ ἡγιασμένοι ἐν ἀληθείᾳ.

— et pro eis ego sanctificabo meipsum : ut sint et ipsi sanctificati in veritate.

— And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

— En Ik heilige Mijzelven voor hen, opdat ook zij geheiligd mogen zijn in waarheid.

— Et je me sanctifie moi-même pour eux, afin qu'eux aussi soient sanctifiés par la vérité.

John 17:20

^CA aþþan ni bi þans bidja ainans, ak <jah> bi þans galaubjandans þairh waurda ize du mis,

— οὐ περὶ τούτων δὲ ἐρωτῶ μόνον, ἀλλὰ καὶ περὶ τῶν πιστευόντων διὰ τοῦ λόγου αὐτῶν εἰς ἐμέ,

— Non pro eis rogo tantum, sed et pro eis qui credituri sunt per verbum eorum in me :

— Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

— En Ik bid niet alleen voor dezen, maar ook voor degenen, die door hun woord in Mij geloven zullen.

— Ce n'est pas pour eux seulement que je prie, mais encore pour ceux qui croiront en moi par leur parole,

John 17:21

^CA ei allai ain sijaina, swaswe þu, atta, in mis jah ik in þus, ei jah þai in uggkis ain sijaina, ei so manaseþs galaubjai þatei þu mik insandides.

— ἵνα πάντες ἓν ὦσιν, καθὼς σύ, πάτερ, ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν σοί, ἵνα καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐν ἡμῖν ὦσιν, ἵνα ὁ κόσμος πιστεύῃ ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας.

— ut omnes unum sint, sicut tu Pater in me, et ego in te, ut et ipsi in nobis unum sint : ut credat mundus, quia tu me misisti.

— That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

— Opdat zij allen een zijn, gelijkerwijs Gij, Vader, in Mij, en Ik in U, dat ook zij in Ons een zijn; opdat de wereld gelove, dat Gij Mij gezonden hebt.

— afin que tous soient un, comme toi, Père, tu es en moi, et comme je suis en toi, afin qu'eux aussi soient un en nous, pour que le monde croie que tu m'as envoyé.

John 17:22

^CA jah ik wulþu þanei gaft mis, gaf im, ei sijaina ain, swaswe wit ain siju.

— κἀγὼ τὴν δόξαν ἣν δέδωκάς μοι δέδωκα αὐτοῖς, ἵνα ὦσιν ἓν καθὼς ἡμεῖς ἕν,

— Et ego claritatem, quam dedisti mihi, dedi eis : ut sint unum, sicut et nos unum sumus.

— And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

— En Ik heb hun de heerlijkheid gegeven, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt; opdat zij een zijn, gelijk als Wij Een zijn;

— Je leur ai donné la gloire que tu m'as donnée, afin qu'ils soient un comme nous sommes un, -

John 17:23

^CA ik in im jah þu in mis, ei sijaina ustauhanai du ainamma, jah kunnei so manaseþs þatei þu mik insandides jah frijodes ins, swaswe mik frijodes.

— ἐγὼ ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ σὺ ἐν ἐμοί, ἵνα ὦσιν τετελειωμένοι εἰς ἕν, ἵνα γινώσκῃ ὁ κόσμος ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας καὶ ἠγάπησας αὐτοὺς καθὼς ἐμὲ ἠγάπησας.

— Ego in eis, et tu in me : ut sint consummati in unum : et cognoscat mundus quia tu me misisti, et dilexisti eos, sicut et me dilexisti.

— I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

— Ik in hen, en Gij in Mij; opdat zij volmaakt zijn in een, en opdat de wereld bekenne, dat Gij Mij gezonden hebt, en hen liefgehad hebt, gelijk Gij Mij liefgehad hebt.

— moi en eux, et toi en moi, -afin qu'ils soient parfaitement un, et que le monde connaisse que tu m'as envoyé et que tu les as aimés comme tu m'as aimé.

John 17:24

^CA atta, þatei atgaft mis, wiljau ei þarei im ik, jah þai sijaina miþ mis, ei saiƕaina wulþu meinana þanei gaft mis, unte frijodes mik faur gaskaft fairƕaus.

— πάτερ, ὃ δέδωκάς μοι, θέλω ἵνα ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ κἀκεῖνοι ὦσιν μετ' ἐμοῦ, ἵνα θεωρῶσιν τὴν δόξαν τὴν ἐμὴν ἣν δέδωκάς μοι, ὅτι ἠγάπησάς με πρὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου.

— Pater, quos dedisti mihi, volo ut ubi sum ego, et illi sint mecum : ut videant claritatem meam, quam dedisti mihi : quia dilexisti me ante constitutionem mundi.

— Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

— Vader, Ik wil, dat waar Ik ben, ook die bij Mij zijn, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt; opdat zij Mijn heerlijkheid mogen aanschouwen, die Gij Mij gegeven hebt; want Gij hebt Mij liefgehad, voor de grondlegging der wereld.

— Père, je veux que là où je suis ceux que tu m'as donnés soient aussi avec moi, afin qu'ils voient ma gloire, la gloire que tu m'as donnée, parce que tu m'as aimé avant la fondation du monde.

John 17:25

^CA atta garaihta, jah so manaseþs þuk ni ufkunþa; iþ ik þuk kunþa. jah þai ufkunþedun þatei þu mik insandides.

— πάτερ δίκαιε, καὶ ὁ κόσμος σε οὐκ ἔγνω, ἐγὼ δέ σε ἔγνων, καὶ οὗτοι ἔγνωσαν ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας,

— Pater juste, mundus te non cognovit, ego autem te cognovi : et hi cognoverunt, quia tu me misisti.

— O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

— Rechtvaardige Vader, de wereld heeft U niet gekend; maar Ik heb U gekend, en dezen hebben bekend, dat Gij Mij gezonden hebt.

— Père juste, le monde ne t'a point connu; mais moi je t'ai connu, et ceux-ci ont connu que tu m'as envoyé.

John 17:26

^CA jah gakannida im namo þeinata jah kannja, ei friaþwa þoei frijodes mik, in im sijai jah ik in im.

— καὶ ἐγνώρισα αὐτοῖς τὸ ὄνομά σου καὶ γνωρίσω, ἵνα ἡ ἀγάπη ἣν ἠγάπησάς με ἐν αὐτοῖς ᾖ κἀγὼ ἐν αὐτοῖς.

— Et notum feci eis nomen tuum, et notum faciam : ut dilectio, qua dilexisti me, in ipsis sit, et ego in ipsis.

— And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

— En Ik heb hun Uw Naam bekend gemaakt, en zal Hem bekend maken; opdat de liefde, waarmede Gij Mij liefgehad hebt, in hen zij, en Ik in hen.

— Je leur ai fait connaître ton nom, et je le leur ferai connaître, afin que l'amour dont tu m'as aimé soit en eux, et que je sois en eux.
