Matthew 27:1
CA At maurgin þan waurþanana, runa nemun allai gudjans jah þai sinistans manageins bi Iesu, ei afdauþidedeina ina.

— πρωΐας δὲ γενομένης συμβούλιον ἔλαβον πάντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ κατὰ τοῦ ἰησοῦ ὥστε θανατῶσαι αὐτόν:
— When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
Matthew 27:2
CA jah gabindandans ina gatauhun jah anafulhun ina Pauntiau Peilatau kindina.
— καὶ δήσαντες αὐτὸν ἀπήγαγον καὶ παρέδωκαν πιλάτῳ τῷ ἡγεμόνι.
— And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
Matthew 27:3
CA þanuh gasaiƕands Iudas sa galewjands ina þatei du stauai gatauhans warþ, idreigonds gawandida þans þrins tiguns silubrinaize gudjam jah sinistam
— τότε ἰδὼν ἰούδας ὁ παραδιδοὺς αὐτὸν ὅτι κατεκρίθη μεταμεληθεὶς ἔστρεψεν τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ πρεσβυτέροις
— Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
Matthew 27:4
CA qiþands: frawaurhta mis galewjands bloþ swikn. eis qeþun: ƕa kara unsis? þu witeis.
— λέγων, ἥμαρτον παραδοὺς αἷμα ἀθῷον. οἱ δὲ εἶπαν, τί πρὸς ἡμᾶς; σὺ ὄψῃ.
— Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
Matthew 27:5

— καὶ ῥίψας τὰ ἀργύρια εἰς τὸν ναὸν ἀνεχώρησεν, καὶ ἀπελθὼν ἀπήγξατο.
— And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
Matthew 27:6
CA  þai gudjans nimandans þans skattans qeþun: ni skuld ist lagjan þans in kaurbaunan, unte andawairþi bloþis ist.
— οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς λαβόντες τὰ ἀργύρια εἶπαν, οὐκ ἔξεστιν βαλεῖν αὐτὰ εἰς τὸν κορβανᾶν, ἐπεὶ τιμὴ αἵματός ἐστιν.
— And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
Matthew 27:7
CA garuni þan nimandans usbauhtedun us þaim þana akr kasjins, du usfilhan ana gastim.
— συμβούλιον δὲ λαβόντες ἠγόρασαν ἐξ αὐτῶν τὸν ἀγρὸν τοῦ κεραμέως εἰς ταφὴν τοῖς ξένοις.
— And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
Matthew 27:8
CA duþþe haitans warþ akrs jains akrs bloþis und hina dag.
— διὸ ἐκλήθη ὁ ἀγρὸς ἐκεῖνος ἀγρὸς αἵματος ἕως τῆς σήμερον.
— Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.
Matthew 27:9
CA þanuh usfullnoda þata qiþano þairh Iairaimian praufetu qiþandan: jah usnemun þrins tiguns silubreinaize andawairþi þis wairþodins, þatei garahnidedun fram sunum Israelis,
— τότε ἐπληρώθη τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ ἰερεμίου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος, καὶ ἔλαβον τὰ τριάκοντα ἀργύρια, τὴν τιμὴν τοῦ τετιμημένου ὃν ἐτιμήσαντο ἀπὸ υἱῶν ἰσραήλ,
— Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
Matthew 27:10
CA jah atgebun ins und akra kasjins, swaswe anabauþ mis frauja.
— καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὰ εἰς τὸν ἀγρὸν τοῦ κεραμέως, καθὰ συνέταξέν μοι κύριος.
— And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.
Matthew 27:11
CA  Iesus stoþ faura kindina, jah frah ina sa kindins qiþands: þu is þiudans Iudaie? Iesus qaþ du imma: þu qiþis.
— ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς ἐστάθη ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ ἡγεμόνος: καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ὁ ἡγεμὼν λέγων, σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν ἰουδαίων; ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς ἔφη, σὺ λέγεις.
— And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
Matthew 27:12
CA jah miþþanei wrohiþs was fram þaim gudjam jah sinistam, ni waiht andhof.
— καὶ ἐν τῷ κατηγορεῖσθαι αὐτὸν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀρχιερέων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίνατο.
— And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
Matthew 27:13
CA þanuh qaþ du imma Peilatus: niu hauseis ƕan filu ana þuk weitwodjand?
— τότε λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ πιλᾶτος, οὐκ ἀκούεις πόσα σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν;
— Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?
Matthew 27:14
CA jah ni andhof imma wiþra ni ainhun waurde, swaswe sildaleikida sa kindins filu.
— καὶ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῷ πρὸς οὐδὲ ἓν ῥῆμα, ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν ἡγεμόνα λίαν.
— And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
Matthew 27:15

— κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν εἰώθει ὁ ἡγεμὼν ἀπολύειν ἕνα τῷ ὄχλῳ δέσμιον ὃν ἤθελον.
— Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.
Matthew 27:16
CA habaidedunuh þan bandjan gatarhidana <haitanana> Barabban.
— εἶχον δὲ τότε δέσμιον ἐπίσημον λεγόμενον [ἰησοῦν] βαραββᾶν.
— And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
Matthew 27:17
CA gaqumanaim þan im, qaþ im Peilatus: ƕana wileiþ ei fraletau izwis? Barabban þau Iesu, saei haitada Xristus?
— συνηγμένων οὖν αὐτῶν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ πιλᾶτος, τίνα θέλετε ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν, [ἰησοῦν τὸν] βαραββᾶν ἢ ἰησοῦν τὸν λεγόμενον χριστόν;
— Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
Matthew 27:18
CA wissa auk þatei in neiþis atgebun ina.
— ᾔδει γὰρ ὅτι διὰ φθόνον παρέδωκαν αὐτόν.
— For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
Matthew 27:19
CA sitandin þan imma ana stauastola, insandida du imma qens is qiþandei: ni waiht þus jah þamma garaihtin ....
— καθημένου δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοῦ βήματος ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ λέγουσα, μηδὲν σοὶ καὶ τῷ δικαίῳ ἐκείνῳ, πολλὰ γὰρ ἔπαθον σήμερον κατ' ὄναρ δι' αὐτόν.
— When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
Matthew 27:42
CA .... Israelis ist, atsteigadau nu af þamma galgin [ei gasaiƕaima] jah galaubjam imma.
— ἄλλους ἔσωσεν, ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι: βασιλεὺς ἰσραήλ ἐστιν, καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ καὶ πιστεύσομεν ἐπ' αὐτόν.
— He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Matthew 27:43
CA trauaida du guda; lausjadau nu ina, jabai wili ina; qaþ auk þatei gudis im sunus.
— πέποιθεν ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν, ῥυσάσθω νῦν εἰ θέλει αὐτόν: εἶπεν γὰρ ὅτι θεοῦ εἰμι υἱός.
— He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
Matthew 27:44
CA þatuh samo jah þai waidedjans þai miþushramidans imma idweitidedun imma.
— τὸ δ' αὐτὸ καὶ οἱ λῃσταὶ οἱ συσταυρωθέντες σὺν αὐτῷ ὠνείδιζον αὐτόν.
— The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
Matthew 27:45
CA fram saihston þan ƕeilai warþ riqis ufar allai airþai und ƕeila niundon.
— ἀπὸ δὲ ἕκτης ὥρας σκότος ἐγένετο ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἕως ὥρας ἐνάτης.
— Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
Matthew 27:46
CA  þan bi ƕeila niundon ufhropida Iesus stibnai mikilai qiþands: helei, helei, lima sibakþani, þatei ist: guþ meins, guþ meins, duƕe mis bilaist?
— περὶ δὲ τὴν ἐνάτην ὥραν ἀνεβόησεν ὁ ἰησοῦς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγων, ηλι ηλι λεμα σαβαχθανι; τοῦτ' ἔστιν, θεέ μου θεέ μου, ἱνατί με ἐγκατέλιπες;
— And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Matthew 27:47
CA  sumai þize jainar standandane gahausjandans qeþun þatei Helian wopeiþ sa.
— τινὲς δὲ τῶν ἐκεῖ ἑστηκότων ἀκούσαντες ἔλεγον ὅτι ἠλίαν φωνεῖ οὗτος.
— Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.
Matthew 27:48
CA jah suns þragida ains us im jah nam swamm fulljands aketis, jah lagjands ana raus draggkida ina.
— καὶ εὐθέως δραμὼν εἷς ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ λαβὼν σπόγγον πλήσας τε ὄξους καὶ περιθεὶς καλάμῳ ἐπότιζεν αὐτόν.
— And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
Matthew 27:49
CA  þai anþarai qeþun: let, ei saiƕam, qimaiu Helias nasjan ina.
— οἱ δὲ λοιποὶ ἔλεγον, ἄφες ἴδωμεν εἰ ἔρχεται ἠλίας σώσων αὐτόν.
— The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
Matthew 27:50
CA  Iesus aftra hropjands stibnai mikilai aflailot ahman.
— ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς πάλιν κράξας φωνῇ μεγάλῃ ἀφῆκεν τὸ πνεῦμα.
— Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Matthew 27:51
CA jah þan faurhah alhs diskritnoda in twa, iupaþro und dalaþ, jah airþa inreiraida, jah stainos disskritnodedun,
— καὶ ἰδοὺ τὸ καταπέτασμα τοῦ ναοῦ ἐσχίσθη ἀπ' ἄνωθεν ἕως κάτω εἰς δύο, καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐσείσθη, καὶ αἱ πέτραι ἐσχίσθησαν,
— And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
Matthew 27:52
CA jah hlaiwasnos usluknodedun, jah managa leika þize ligandane weihaize urrisun.
— καὶ τὰ μνημεῖα ἀνεῴχθησαν καὶ πολλὰ σώματα τῶν κεκοιμημένων ἁγίων ἠγέρθησαν,
— And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Matthew 27:53
CA jah usgaggandans us hlaiwasnom afar urrist is innatgaggandans in þo weihon baurg jah ataugidedun sik managaim.
— καὶ ἐξελθόντες ἐκ τῶν μνημείων μετὰ τὴν ἔγερσιν αὐτοῦ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὴν ἁγίαν πόλιν καὶ ἐνεφανίσθησαν πολλοῖς.
— And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Matthew 27:54
CA  hundafaþs jah þai miþ imma witandans Iesua, gasaiƕandans þo reiron jah þo waurþanona, ohtedun abraba, qiþandans: bi sunjai gudis sunus ist sa.
— ὁ δὲ ἑκατόνταρχος καὶ οἱ μετ' αὐτοῦ τηροῦντες τὸν ἰησοῦν ἰδόντες τὸν σεισμὸν καὶ τὰ γενόμενα ἐφοβήθησαν σφόδρα, λέγοντες, ἀληθῶς θεοῦ υἱὸς ἦν οὗτος.
— Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Matthew 27:55
CA wesunuh þan jainar qinons managos fairraþro saiƕandeins, þozei laistidedun afar Iesua fram Galeilaia, andbahtjandeins imma,
— ἦσαν δὲ ἐκεῖ γυναῖκες πολλαὶ ἀπὸ μακρόθεν θεωροῦσαι, αἵτινες ἠκολούθησαν τῷ ἰησοῦ ἀπὸ τῆς γαλιλαίας διακονοῦσαι αὐτῷ:
— And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:
Matthew 27:56
CA in þaimei was Marja so Magdalene, jah Marja so Iakobis jah Iosezis aiþei, jah aiþei suniwe Zaibaidaiaus.
— ἐν αἷς ἦν μαρία ἡ μαγδαληνὴ καὶ μαρία ἡ τοῦ ἰακώβου καὶ ἰωσὴφ μήτηρ καὶ ἡ μήτηρ τῶν υἱῶν ζεβεδαίου.
— Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children.
Matthew 27:57
CA  þan seiþu warþ, qam manna gabigs af Areimaþaias þizuh namo Iosef, saei jah silba siponida Iesua.
— ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης ἦλθεν ἄνθρωπος πλούσιος ἀπὸ ἁριμαθαίας, τοὔνομα ἰωσήφ, ὃς καὶ αὐτὸς ἐμαθητεύθη τῷ ἰησοῦ:
— When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:
Matthew 27:58
CA sah atgaggands du Peilatau baþ þis leikis Iesuis. þanuh Peilatus uslaubida giban þata leik.
— οὗτος προσελθὼν τῷ πιλάτῳ ᾐτήσατο τὸ σῶμα τοῦ ἰησοῦ. τότε ὁ πιλᾶτος ἐκέλευσεν ἀποδοθῆναι.
— He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
Matthew 27:59

— καὶ λαβὼν τὸ σῶμα ὁ ἰωσὴφ ἐνετύλιξεν αὐτὸ [ἐν] σινδόνι καθαρᾷ,
— And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
Matthew 27:60
CA jah galagida ita in niujamma seinamma hlaiwa þatei ushuloda ana staina jah faurwalwjands staina mikilamma daurons þis hlaiwis galaiþ.
— καὶ ἔθηκεν αὐτὸ ἐν τῷ καινῷ αὐτοῦ μνημείῳ ὃ ἐλατόμησεν ἐν τῇ πέτρᾳ, καὶ προσκυλίσας λίθον μέγαν τῇ θύρᾳ τοῦ μνημείου ἀπῆλθεν.
— And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
Matthew 27:61
CA wasuh þan jainar Marja Magdalene jah so anþara Marja sitandeins andwairþis þamma hlaiwa.
— ἦν δὲ ἐκεῖ μαριὰμ ἡ μαγδαληνὴ καὶ ἡ ἄλλη μαρία καθήμεναι ἀπέναντι τοῦ τάφου.
— And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
Matthew 27:62
CA iftumin þan daga, saei ist afar paraskaiwein, gaqemun auhumistans gudjans jah Fareisaieis du Peilatau
— τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον, ἥτις ἐστὶν μετὰ τὴν παρασκευήν, συνήχθησαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ φαρισαῖοι πρὸς πιλᾶτον
— Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
Matthew 27:63
CA qiþandans: frauja, gamundedum þatei jains airzjands qaþ nauh libands: afar þrins dagans urreisa.
— λέγοντες, κύριε, ἐμνήσθημεν ὅτι ἐκεῖνος ὁ πλάνος εἶπεν ἔτι ζῶν, μετὰ τρεῖς ἡμέρας ἐγείρομαι.
— Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
Matthew 27:64
CA hait nu witan þamma hlaiwa und þana þridjan dag, ibai ufto qimandans þai siponjos is binimaina imma jah qiþaina du managein: urrais us dauþaim, jah ist so speidizei airziþa wairsizei þizai frumein.
— κέλευσον οὖν ἀσφαλισθῆναι τὸν τάφον ἕως τῆς τρίτης ἡμέρας, μήποτε ἐλθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ κλέψωσιν αὐτὸν καὶ εἴπωσιν τῷ λαῷ, ἠγέρθη ἀπὸ τῶν νεκρῶν, καὶ ἔσται ἡ ἐσχάτη πλάνη χείρων τῆς πρώτης.
— Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
Matthew 27:65
CA qaþ im Peilatus: habaiþ wardjans, gaggiþ witaiduh swaswe kunnuþ.
— ἔφη αὐτοῖς ὁ πιλᾶτος, ἔχετε κουστωδίαν: ὑπάγετε ἀσφαλίσασθε ὡς οἴδατε.
— Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
Matthew 27:66
CA  eis gaggandans galukun þata hlaiw, faursigljandans þana ....
— οἱ δὲ πορευθέντες ἠσφαλίσαντο τὸν τάφον σφραγίσαντες τὸν λίθον μετὰ τῆς κουστωδίας.
— So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
