Mark chapter 15
- Mark 15:1
- CA Jah sunsaiw in maurgin garuni taujandans þai auhumistans gudjans miþ þaim sinistam jah bokarjam, jah alla so gafaurds gabindandans Iesu brahtedun ina at Peilatau.
- — καὶ εὐθὺς πρωῒ συμβούλιον ποιήσαντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ γραμματέων
καὶ ὅλον τὸ συνέδριον δήσαντες τὸν ἰησοῦν ἀπήνεγκαν καὶ παρέδωκαν πιλάτῳ.
- — And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders
and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered
him to Pilate.
- Mark 15:2
- CA jah frah ina Peilatus: þu is þiudans Iudaie? iþ is andhafjands qaþ du imma: þu qiþis.
- — καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ὁ πιλᾶτος, σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν ἰουδαίων; ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτῷ
λέγει, σὺ λέγεις.
- — And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto them,
Thou sayest it.
- Mark 15:3
- CA jah wrohidedun ina þai auhumistans gudjans filu.
- — καὶ κατηγόρουν αὐτοῦ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς πολλά.
- — And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.
- Mark 15:4
- CA iþ Peilatus aftra frah ina qiþands: niu andhafjis ni waiht? sai, ƕan filu ana þuk weitwodjand.
- — ὁ δὲ πιλᾶτος πάλιν ἐπηρώτα αὐτὸν λέγων, οὐκ ἀποκρίνῃ οὐδέν; ἴδε πόσα σου κατηγοροῦσιν.
- — And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things
they witness against thee.
- Mark 15:5
- CA iþ Iesus þanamais <waiht> ni andhof, swaswe sildaleikida Peilatus.
- — ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς οὐκέτι οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίθη, ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν πιλᾶτον.
- — But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.
- Mark 15:6
- CA iþ and dulþ ƕarjoh fralailot im ainana bandjan þanei bedun.
- — κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν ἀπέλυεν αὐτοῖς ἕνα δέσμιον ὃν παρῃτοῦντο.
- — Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.
- Mark 15:7
- CA wasuh þan sa haitana Barabbas miþ þaim miþ imma drobjandam gabundans, þaiei in auhjodau maurþr gatawidedun.
- — ἦν δὲ ὁ λεγόμενος βαραββᾶς μετὰ τῶν στασιαστῶν δεδεμένος οἵτινες ἐν τῇ στάσει φόνον
πεποιήκεισαν.
- — And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection
with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
- Mark 15:8
- CA jah usgaggandei alla managei dugunnun bidjan, swaswe sinteino tawida im.
- — καὶ ἀναβὰς ὁ ὄχλος ἤρξατο αἰτεῖσθαι καθὼς ἐποίει αὐτοῖς.
- — And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto
them.
- Mark 15:9
- CA iþ Peilatus andhof im qiþands: wileidu fraleitan izwis þana þiudan Iudaie?
- — ὁ δὲ πιλᾶτος ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς λέγων, θέλετε ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν τὸν βασιλέα τῶν ἰουδαίων;
- — But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the
Jews?
- Mark 15:10
- CA wissa auk þatei in neiþis atgebun ina þai auhumistans gudjans.
- — ἐγίνωσκεν γὰρ ὅτι διὰ φθόνον παραδεδώκεισαν αὐτὸν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς.
- — For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.
- Mark 15:11
- CA iþ þai auhumistans gudjans inwagidedun þo managein ei mais Barabban fralailoti im.
- — οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς ἀνέσεισαν τὸν ὄχλον ἵνα μᾶλλον τὸν βαραββᾶν ἀπολύσῃ αὐτοῖς.
- — But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto
them.
- Mark 15:12
- CA iþ Peilatus aftra andhafjands qaþ du im: ƕa nu wileiþ ei taujau þammei qiþiþ þiudan Iudaie?
- — ὁ δὲ πιλᾶτος πάλιν ἀποκριθεὶς ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς, τί οὖν [θέλετε] ποιήσω [ὃν λέγετε] τὸν
βασιλέα τῶν ἰουδαίων;
- — And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto
him whom ye call the King of the Jews?
- Mark 15:13
- CA iþ eis aftra hropidedun: ushramei ina.
- — οἱ δὲ πάλιν ἔκραξαν, σταύρωσον αὐτόν.
- — And they cried out again, Crucify him.
- Mark 15:14
- CA iþ Peilatus qaþ du im: ƕa allis ubilis gatawida? iþ eis mais hropidedun: ushramei ina.
- — ὁ δὲ πιλᾶτος ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς, τί γὰρ ἐποίησεν κακόν; οἱ δὲ περισσῶς ἔκραξαν, σταύρωσον
αὐτόν.
- — Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more
exceedingly, Crucify him.
- Mark 15:15
- CA iþ Peilatus wiljands þizai managein fullafahjan, fralailot im þana Barabban, iþ Iesu atgaf usbliggwands, ei ushramiþs wesi.
- — ὁ δὲ πιλᾶτος βουλόμενος τῷ ὄχλῳ τὸ ἱκανὸν ποιῆσαι ἀπέλυσεν αὐτοῖς τὸν βαραββᾶν, καὶ
παρέδωκεν τὸν ἰησοῦν φραγελλώσας ἵνα σταυρωθῇ.
- — And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered
Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
- Mark 15:16
- CA iþ gadrauhteis gatauhun ina innana gardis, þatei ist praitoriaun, jah gahaihaitun alla hansa
- — οἱ δὲ στρατιῶται ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν ἔσω τῆς αὐλῆς, ὅ ἐστιν πραιτώριον, καὶ συγκαλοῦσιν
ὅλην τὴν σπεῖραν.
- — And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together
the whole band.
- Mark 15:17
- CA jah gawasidedun ina paurpurai jah atlagidedun ana ina þaurneina wipja uswindandans
- — καὶ ἐνδιδύσκουσιν αὐτὸν πορφύραν καὶ περιτιθέασιν αὐτῷ πλέξαντες ἀκάνθινον στέφανον:
- — And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about
his head,
- Mark 15:18
- CA jah dugunnun goljan ina: hails, þiudan Iudaie!
- — καὶ ἤρξαντο ἀσπάζεσθαι αὐτόν, χαῖρε, βασιλεῦ τῶν ἰουδαίων:
- — And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
- Mark 15:19
- CA jah slohun is haubiþ rausa jah bispiwun ina jah lagjandans kniwa inwitun ina.
- — καὶ ἔτυπτον αὐτοῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν καλάμῳ καὶ ἐνέπτυον αὐτῷ, καὶ τιθέντες τὰ γόνατα προσεκύνουν
αὐτῷ.
- — And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their
knees worshipped him.
- Mark 15:20
- CA jah biþe bilailaikun ina andwasidedun ina þizai paurpurai jah gawasidedun ina wastjom swesaim. jah ustauhun ina ei ushramidedeina ina.
- — καὶ ὅτε ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῷ, ἐξέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὴν πορφύραν καὶ ἐνέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ.
καὶ ἐξάγουσιν αὐτὸν ἵνα σταυρώσωσιν αὐτόν.
- — And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes
on him, and led him out to crucify him.
- Mark 15:21
- CA jah undgripun sumana manne, Seimona Kwreinaiu, qimandan af akra, attan Alaiksandraus jah Rufaus, ei nemi galgan is.
- — καὶ ἀγγαρεύουσιν παράγοντά τινα σίμωνα κυρηναῖον ἐρχόμενον ἀπ' ἀγροῦ, τὸν πατέρα ἀλεξάνδρου
καὶ ῥούφου, ἵνα ἄρῃ τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ.
- — And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the
father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.
- Mark 15:22
- CA jah attauhun ina ana Gaulgauþa staþ, þatei ist gaskeiriþ ƕairneins staþs.
- — καὶ φέρουσιν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν γολγοθᾶν τόπον, ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον κρανίου τόπος.
- — And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place
of a skull.
- Mark 15:23
- CA jah gebun imma drigkan wein miþ smwrna; iþ is ni nam.
- — καὶ ἐδίδουν αὐτῷ ἐσμυρνισμένον οἶνον, ὃς δὲ οὐκ ἔλαβεν.
- — And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.
- Mark 15:24
- CA jah ushramjandans ina disdailjand wastjos is wairpandans hlauta ana þos, ƕarjizuh ƕa nemi.
- — καὶ σταυροῦσιν αὐτὸν καὶ διαμερίζονται τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ, βάλλοντες κλῆρον ἐπ' αὐτὰ
τίς τί ἄρῃ.
- — And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them,
what every man should take.
- Mark 15:25
- CA wasuh þan ƕeila þridjo, jah ushramidedun ina.
- — ἦν δὲ ὥρα τρίτη καὶ ἐσταύρωσαν αὐτόν.
- — And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
- Mark 15:26
- CA jah was ufarmeli fairinos is ufarmeliþ: sa þiudans Iudaie.
- — καὶ ἦν ἡ ἐπιγραφὴ τῆς αἰτίας αὐτοῦ ἐπιγεγραμμένη, ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν ἰουδαίων.
- — And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
- Mark 15:27
- CA jah miþ imma ushramidedun twans waidedjans, ainana af taihswon jah ainana af hleidumein is.
- — καὶ σὺν αὐτῷ σταυροῦσιν δύο λῃστάς, ἕνα ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἕνα ἐξ εὐωνύμων αὐτοῦ.
- — And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on
his left.
- Mark 15:28
- CA jah usfullnoda þata gamelido þata qiþando: jah miþ unsibjaim rahniþs was.
- — And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
- Mark 15:29
- CA jah þai faurgaggandans wajameridedun ina, wiþondans haubida seina jah qiþandans: o sa gatairands þo alh jah bi þrins dagans gatimrjands þo,
- — καὶ οἱ παραπορευόμενοι ἐβλασφήμουν αὐτὸν κινοῦντες τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν καὶ λέγοντες,
οὐὰ ὁ καταλύων τὸν ναὸν καὶ οἰκοδομῶν ἐν τρισὶν ἡμέραις,
- — And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that
destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
- Mark 15:30
- CA nasei þuk silban jah atsteig af þamma galgin!
- — σῶσον σεαυτὸν καταβὰς ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ.
- — Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
- Mark 15:31
- CA samaleiko jah þai auhumistans gudjans bilaikandans ina miþ sis misso miþ þaim bokarjam qeþun: anþarans ganasida, iþ sik silban ni mag ganasjan.
- — ὁμοίως καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐμπαίζοντες πρὸς ἀλλήλους μετὰ τῶν γραμματέων ἔλεγον, ἄλλους
ἔσωσεν, ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι:
- — Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He
saved others; himself he cannot save.
- Mark 15:32
- CA sa Xristus, sa þiudans Israelis, atsteigadau nu af þamma galgin, ei gasaiƕaima jah galaubjaima. jah þai miþushramidans imma idweitidedun imma.
- — ὁ χριστὸς ὁ βασιλεὺς ἰσραὴλ καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ, ἵνα ἴδωμεν καὶ πιστεύσωμεν.
καὶ οἱ συνεσταυρωμένοι σὺν αὐτῷ ὠνείδιζον αὐτόν.
- — Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe.
And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
- Mark 15:33
- CA jah biþe warþ ƕeila saihsto, riqis warþ ana allai airþai und ƕeila niundon.
- — καὶ γενομένης ὥρας ἕκτης σκότος ἐγένετο ἐφ' ὅλην τὴν γῆν ἕως ὥρας ἐνάτης.
- — And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the
ninth hour.
- Mark 15:34
- CA jah niundon ƕeilai wopida Iesus stibnai mikilai qiþands: ailoe ailoe, lima sibakþanei, þatei ist gaskeiriþ: guþ meins, guþ meins, duƕe mis bilaist?
- — καὶ τῇ ἐνάτῃ ὥρᾳ ἐβόησεν ὁ ἰησοῦς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ, ελωι ελωι λεμα σαβαχθανι; ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον
ὁ θεός μου ὁ θεός μου, εἰς τί ἐγκατέλιπές με;
- — And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?
which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
- Mark 15:35
- CA jah sumai þize atstandandane gahausjandans qeþun: sai, Helian wopeiþ.
- — καί τινες τῶν παρεστηκότων ἀκούσαντες ἔλεγον, ἴδε ἠλίαν φωνεῖ.
- — And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
- Mark 15:36
- CA þragjands þan ains jah gafulljands swam akeitis, galagjands ana raus, dragkida ina qiþands: let, ei saiƕam qimaiu Helias athafjan ina.
- — δραμὼν δέ τις [καὶ] γεμίσας σπόγγον ὄξους περιθεὶς καλάμῳ ἐπότιζεν αὐτόν, λέγων, ἄφετε
ἴδωμεν εἰ ἔρχεται ἠλίας καθελεῖν αὐτόν.
- — And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him
to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
- Mark 15:37
- CA iþ Iesus aftra letands stibna mikila uzon.
- — ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς ἀφεὶς φωνὴν μεγάλην ἐξέπνευσεν.
- — And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
- Mark 15:38
- CA jah faur[a]hah als disskritnoda in twa iupaþro und dalaþ.
- — καὶ τὸ καταπέτασμα τοῦ ναοῦ ἐσχίσθη εἰς δύο ἀπ' ἄνωθεν ἕως κάτω.
- — And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
- Mark 15:39
- CA gasaiƕands þan sa hundafaþs sa atstandands in andwairþja is þatei swa hropjands uzon, qaþ: bi sunjai, sa manna sa sunus was gudis.
- — ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ κεντυρίων ὁ παρεστηκὼς ἐξ ἐναντίας αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὕτως ἐξέπνευσεν εἶπεν, ἀληθῶς
οὗτος ὁ ἄνθρωπος υἱὸς θεοῦ ἦν.
- — And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and
gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
- Mark 15:40
- CA wesunuþ~þan qinons fairraþro saiƕandeins, in þaimei was Marja so Magdalene jah Marja Iakobis þis minnizins jah Iosezis aiþei jah Salome.
- — ἦσαν δὲ καὶ γυναῖκες ἀπὸ μακρόθεν θεωροῦσαι, ἐν αἷς καὶ μαρία ἡ μαγδαληνὴ καὶ μαρία
ἡ ἰακώβου τοῦ μικροῦ καὶ ἰωσῆτος μήτηρ καὶ σαλώμη,
- — There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary
the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
- Mark 15:41
- CA jah þan was in Galeilaia, jah laistidedun ina jah andbahtidedun imma, jah anþaros managos þozei miþiddjedun imma in Iairusalem.
- — αἳ ὅτε ἦν ἐν τῇ γαλιλαίᾳ ἠκολούθουν αὐτῷ καὶ διηκόνουν αὐτῷ, καὶ ἄλλαι πολλαὶ αἱ συναναβᾶσαι
αὐτῷ εἰς ἱεροσόλυμα.
- — (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many
other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
- Mark 15:42
- CA jah juþan at andanahtja waurþanamma, unte was paraskaiwe, saei ist fruma sabbato,
- — καὶ ἤδη ὀψίας γενομένης, ἐπεὶ ἦν παρασκευή, ὅ ἐστιν προσάββατον,
- — And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before
the sabbath,
- Mark 15:43
- CA qimands Iosef af Areimaþaias, gaguds ragineis, saei was <jah> silba beidands þiudangardjos gudis, anananþjands galaiþ inn du Peilatau jah baþ þis leikis Iesuis.
- — ἐλθὼν ἰωσὴφ [ὁ] ἀπὸ ἁριμαθαίας εὐσχήμων βουλευτής, ὃς καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν προσδεχόμενος τὴν
βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ, τολμήσας εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς τὸν πιλᾶτον καὶ ᾐτήσατο τὸ σῶμα τοῦ ἰησοῦ.
- — Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom
of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.
- Mark 15:44
- CA iþ Peilatus sildaleikida ei is juþan gaswalt; jah athaitands þana hundafaþ frah ina jû~þan gadauþnodedi.
- — ὁ δὲ πιλᾶτος ἐθαύμασεν εἰ ἤδη τέθνηκεν, καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τὸν κεντυρίωνα ἐπηρώτησεν
αὐτὸν εἰ πάλαι ἀπέθανεν:
- — And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion,
he asked him whether he had been any while dead.
- Mark 15:45
- CA jah finþands at þamma hundafada fragaf þata leik Iosefa.
- — καὶ γνοὺς ἀπὸ τοῦ κεντυρίωνος ἐδωρήσατο τὸ πτῶμα τῷ ἰωσήφ.
- — And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
- Mark 15:46
- CA jah usbugjands lein jah usnimands ita biwand þamma leina jah galagida ita in hlaiwa, þatei was gadraban us staina, jah atwalwida stain du daura þis hlaiwis.
- — καὶ ἀγοράσας σινδόνα καθελὼν αὐτὸν ἐνείλησεν τῇ σινδόνι καὶ ἔθηκεν αὐτὸν ἐν μνημείῳ
ὃ ἦν λελατομημένον ἐκ πέτρας, καὶ προσεκύλισεν λίθον ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν τοῦ μνημείου.
- — And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid
him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door
of the sepulchre.
- Mark 15:47
- CA iþ Marja so Magdalene jah Marja Iosezis seƕun ƕar galagiþs wesi.
- — ἡ δὲ μαρία ἡ μαγδαληνὴ καὶ μαρία ἡ ἰωσῆτος ἐθεώρουν ποῦ τέθειται.
- — And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.
