John chapter 7

John 7:1: ^CA Jah ƕarboda Iesus afar þata in Galeilaia; ni auk wilda in Iudaia gaggan, unte sokidedun ina þai Iudaieis usqiman.; — καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα περιεπάτει ὁ ἰησοῦς ἐν τῇ γαλιλαίᾳ: οὐ γὰρ ἤθελεν ἐν τῇ ἰουδαίᾳ περιπατεῖν, ὅτι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι ἀποκτεῖναι.; — After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.
John 7:2: ^CA wasuh þan neƕa dulþs Iudaie, so hleþrastakeins.; — ἦν δὲ ἐγγὺς ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν ἰουδαίων ἡ σκηνοπηγία.; — Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.
John 7:3: ^CA þanuh qeþun du imma broþrjus is: usleiþ þaþro jah gagg in Iudaian, ei jah þai siponjos <þeinai> saiƕaina waurstwa þeina þoei þu taujis.; — εἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ, μετάβηθι ἐντεῦθεν καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὴν ἰουδαίαν, ἵνα καὶ οἱ μαθηταί σου θεωρήσουσιν σοῦ τὰ ἔργα ἃ ποιεῖς:; — His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
John 7:4: ^CA ni manna auk in analaugnein ƕa taujiþ jah sokeiþ sik uskunþana wisan. jabai þata taujis, bairhtei þuk silban þizai manasedai.; — οὐδεὶς γάρ τι ἐν κρυπτῷ ποιεῖ καὶ ζητεῖ αὐτὸς ἐν παρρησίᾳ εἶναι. εἰ ταῦτα ποιεῖς, φανέρωσον σεαυτὸν τῷ κόσμῳ.; — For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.
John 7:5: ^CA ni auk þai broþrjus is galaubidedun imma.; — οὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπίστευον εἰς αὐτόν.; — For neither did his brethren believe in him.
John 7:6: ^CA þaruh qaþ im Iesus: mel mein ni nauh ist, iþ mel izwar sinteino ist manwu.; — λέγει οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, ὁ καιρὸς ὁ ἐμὸς οὔπω πάρεστιν, ὁ δὲ καιρὸς ὁ ὑμέτερος πάντοτέ ἐστιν ἕτοιμος.; — Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.
John 7:7: ^CA ni mag so manaseþs fijan izwis, iþ mik fijaiþ; unte ik weitwodja bi ins þatei waurstwa ize ubila sind.; — οὐ δύναται ὁ κόσμος μισεῖν ὑμᾶς, ἐμὲ δὲ μισεῖ, ὅτι ἐγὼ μαρτυρῶ περὶ αὐτοῦ ὅτι τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ πονηρά ἐστιν.; — The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
John 7:8: ^CA jus galeiþiþ in dulþ þo, iþ ik ni nauh galeiþa in þo dulþ, unte meinata mel ni nauh usfulliþ ist.; — ὑμεῖς ἀνάβητε εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν: ἐγὼ οὐκ ἀναβαίνω εἰς τὴν ἑορτὴν ταύτην, ὅτι ὁ ἐμὸς καιρὸς οὔπω πεπλήρωται.; — Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come.
John 7:9: ^CA þatuh þan qaþ du im wisands in Galeilaia.; — ταῦτα δὲ εἰπὼν αὐτὸς ἔμεινεν ἐν τῇ γαλιλαίᾳ.; — When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.
John 7:10: ^CA iþ biþe galiþun þai broþrjus is, þanuh jah is galaiþ in þo dulþ ni andaugjo, ak swe analaugniba.; — ὡς δὲ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν ἑορτήν, τότε καὶ αὐτὸς ἀνέβη, οὐ φανερῶς ἀλλὰ [ὡς] ἐν κρυπτῷ.; — But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
John 7:11: ^CA þanuh Iudaieis sokidedun ina in þizai dulþai jah qeþun: ƕar ist jains?; — οἱ οὖν ἰουδαῖοι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ καὶ ἔλεγον, ποῦ ἐστιν ἐκεῖνος;; — Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
John 7:12: ^CA jah birodeins mikila <bi ina> was in managein: sumaih qeþun þatei sunjeins ist; anþarai qeþun: ne, ak airzeiþ þo managein.; — καὶ γογγυσμὸς περὶ αὐτοῦ ἦν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς ὄχλοις: οἱ μὲν ἔλεγον ὅτι ἀγαθός ἐστιν, ἄλλοι [δὲ] ἔλεγον, οὔ, ἀλλὰ πλανᾷ τὸν ὄχλον.; — And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
John 7:13: ^CA nih þan ainshun sweþauh balþaba rodida bi ina in agisis Iudaie.; — οὐδεὶς μέντοι παρρησίᾳ ἐλάλει περὶ αὐτοῦ διὰ τὸν φόβον τῶν ἰουδαίων.; — Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.
John 7:14: ^CA iþ juþan ana midjai dulþ usstaig Iesus in alh jah laisida.; — ἤδη δὲ τῆς ἑορτῆς μεσούσης ἀνέβη ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν καὶ ἐδίδασκεν.; — Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
John 7:15: ^CA jah sildaleikidedun manageins qiþandans: ƕaiwa sa bokos kann unuslaisiþs?; — ἐθαύμαζον οὖν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι λέγοντες, πῶς οὗτος γράμματα οἶδεν μὴ μεμαθηκώς;; — And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
John 7:16: ^CA andhof þan Iesus jah qaþ: so meina laiseins nist meina, ak þis sandjandins mik.; — ἀπεκρίθη οὖν αὐτοῖς [ὁ] ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν, ἡ ἐμὴ διδαχὴ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὴ ἀλλὰ τοῦ πέμψαντός με:; — Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
John 7:17: ^CA jabai ƕas wili wiljan is taujan, ufkunnaiþ bi þo laisein framuh guda sijai, þau iku fram mis silbin rodja.; — ἐάν τις θέλῃ τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ ποιεῖν, γνώσεται περὶ τῆς διδαχῆς πότερον ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ ἐστιν ἢ ἐγὼ ἀπ' ἐμαυτοῦ λαλῶ.; — If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
John 7:18: ^CA saei fram sis silbin rodeiþ, hauhiþa seina sokeiþ; iþ saei sokeiþ hauhiþa þis sandjandins sik, sah sunjeins ist jah inwindiþa in imma nist.; — ὁ ἀφ' ἑαυτοῦ λαλῶν τὴν δόξαν τὴν ἰδίαν ζητεῖ: ὁ δὲ ζητῶν τὴν δόξαν τοῦ πέμψαντος αὐτόν, οὗτος ἀληθής ἐστιν καὶ ἀδικία ἐν αὐτῷ οὐκ ἔστιν.; — He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
John 7:19: ^CA niu Moses gaf izwis witoþ? jah ni ainshun izwara taujiþ þata witoþ; ƕa mik sokeiþ usqiman?; — οὐ μωϋσῆς δέδωκεν ὑμῖν τὸν νόμον; καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ποιεῖ τὸν νόμον. τί με ζητεῖτε ἀποκτεῖναι;; — Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
John 7:20: ^CA andhof so managei jah qeþun: unhulþon habais; ƕas þuk sokeiþ usqiman?; — ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ὄχλος, δαιμόνιον ἔχεις: τίς σε ζητεῖ ἀποκτεῖναι;; — The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
John 7:21: ^CA andhof Iesus jah qaþ du im: ain waurstw gatawida, jah allai sildaleikeiþ.; — ἀπεκρίθη ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, ἓν ἔργον ἐποίησα καὶ πάντες θαυμάζετε.; — Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
John 7:22: ^CA duþþe Moses atgaf izwis bimait, ni þatei fram Mose sijai, ak us attam, jah in sabbato bimaitiþ mannan.; — διὰ τοῦτο μωϋσῆς δέδωκεν ὑμῖν τὴν περιτομήν – οὐχ ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ μωϋσέως ἐστὶν ἀλλ' ἐκ τῶν πατέρων – καὶ ἐν σαββάτῳ περιτέμνετε ἄνθρωπον.; — Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
John 7:23: ^CA jabai bimait nimiþ manna in sabbato, ei ni gatairaidau witoþ þata Mosezis; iþ mis hatizoþ, unte allana mannan hailana gatawida in sabbato?; — εἰ περιτομὴν λαμβάνει ἄνθρωπος ἐν σαββάτῳ ἵνα μὴ λυθῇ ὁ νόμος μωϋσέως, ἐμοὶ χολᾶτε ὅτι ὅλον ἄνθρωπον ὑγιῆ ἐποίησα ἐν σαββάτῳ;; — If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
John 7:24: ^CA ni stojaiþ bi siunai, ak þo garaihton staua stojaiþ.; — μὴ κρίνετε κατ' ὄψιν, ἀλλὰ τὴν δικαίαν κρίσιν κρίνετε.; — Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
John 7:25: ^CA qeþunuh þan sumai þize Iairusaulwmeite: niu sa ist þammei sokjand usqiman?; — ἔλεγον οὖν τινες ἐκ τῶν ἱεροσολυμιτῶν, οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὃν ζητοῦσιν ἀποκτεῖναι;; — Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
John 7:26: ^CA jah sai, andaugiba rodeiþ jah waiht du imma ni qiþand; ibai aufto bi sunjai ufkunþedun þai reiks þatei sa ist bi sunjai Xristus?; — καὶ ἴδε παρρησίᾳ λαλεῖ καὶ οὐδὲν αὐτῷ λέγουσιν. μήποτε ἀληθῶς ἔγνωσαν οἱ ἄρχοντες ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός;; — But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
John 7:27: ^CA akei þana kunnum, ƕaþro ist; iþ Xristus, biþe qimiþ, ni manna wait ƕaþro ist.; — ἀλλὰ τοῦτον οἴδαμεν πόθεν ἐστίν: ὁ δὲ χριστὸς ὅταν ἔρχηται οὐδεὶς γινώσκει πόθεν ἐστίν.; — Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
John 7:28: ^CA hropida þan in alh laisjands Iesus jah qiþands: jah mik kunnuþ jah wituþ ƕaþro im; jah af mis silbin ni qam, ak ist sunjeins saei sandida mik, þanei jus ni kunnuþ.; — ἔκραξεν οὖν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ διδάσκων ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ λέγων, κἀμὲ οἴδατε καὶ οἴδατε πόθεν εἰμί: καὶ ἀπ' ἐμαυτοῦ οὐκ ἐλήλυθα, ἀλλ' ἔστιν ἀληθινὸς ὁ πέμψας με, ὃν ὑμεῖς οὐκ οἴδατε:; — Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
John 7:29: ^CA iþ ik kann ina, unte fram imma im, jah is mik insandida.; — ἐγὼ οἶδα αὐτόν, ὅτι παρ' αὐτοῦ εἰμι κἀκεῖνός με ἀπέστειλεν.; — But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
John 7:30: ^CA sokidedun þan ina gafahan, jah ni ainshun uslagida ana ina handu, unte nauhþanuh ni atiddja ƕeila is.; — ἐζήτουν οὖν αὐτὸν πιάσαι, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐπέβαλεν ἐπ' αὐτὸν τὴν χεῖρα, ὅτι οὔπω ἐληλύθει ἡ ὥρα αὐτοῦ.; — Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
John 7:31: ^CA iþ managai þizos manageins galaubidedun imma jah qeþun: <ei> Xristus, þan qimiþ, ibai [ei] managizeins taiknins taujai þaimei sa tawida?; — ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου δὲ πολλοὶ ἐπίστευσαν εἰς αὐτόν, καὶ ἔλεγον, ὁ χριστὸς ὅταν ἔλθῃ μὴ πλείονα σημεῖα ποιήσει ὧν οὗτος ἐποίησεν;; — And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
John 7:32: ^CA hausidedun þan Fareisaieis þo managein birodjandein bi ina þata. inuhsandidedun andbahtans þai Fareisaieis jah þai auhumistans gudjans, ei gafaifaheina ina.; — ἤκουσαν οἱ φαρισαῖοι τοῦ ὄχλου γογγύζοντος περὶ αὐτοῦ ταῦτα, καὶ ἀπέστειλαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ φαρισαῖοι ὑπηρέτας ἵνα πιάσωσιν αὐτόν.; — The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
John 7:33: ^CA þanuh qaþ Iesus: nauh leitila ƕeila miþ izwis im, jah þan gagga du þamma sandjandin mik.; — εἶπεν οὖν ὁ ἰησοῦς, ἔτι χρόνον μικρὸν μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰμι καὶ ὑπάγω πρὸς τὸν πέμψαντά με.; — Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.
John 7:34: ^CA sokeiþ mik jah ni bigitiþ, jah þarei im ik, jus ni maguþ qiman.; — ζητήσετέ με καὶ οὐχ εὑρήσετέ [με], καὶ ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ ὑμεῖς οὐ δύνασθε ἐλθεῖν.; — Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
John 7:35: ^CA þaruh qeþun þai Iudaieis du sis misso: ƕadre sa skuli gaggan, þei weis ni bigitaima ina? nibai in distahein þiudo skuli gaggan jah laisjan þiudos?; — εἶπον οὖν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι πρὸς ἑαυτούς, ποῦ οὗτος μέλλει πορεύεσθαι ὅτι ἡμεῖς οὐχ εὑρήσομεν αὐτόν; μὴ εἰς τὴν διασπορὰν τῶν ἑλλήνων μέλλει πορεύεσθαι καὶ διδάσκειν τοὺς ἕλληνας;; — Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
John 7:36: ^CA ƕa sijai þata waurd, þatei qaþ: sokeiþ mik jah ni bigitiþ, jah þarei im ik, jus ni maguþ qiman?; — τίς ἐστιν ὁ λόγος οὗτος ὃν εἶπεν, ζητήσετέ με καὶ οὐχ εὑρήσετέ [με], καὶ ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ ὑμεῖς οὐ δύνασθε ἐλθεῖν;; — What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?
John 7:37: ^CA iþ in spedistin daga þamma mikilin dulþais stoþ Iesus jah hropida qiþands: jabai ƕana þaursjai, gaggai du mis jah driggkai.; — ἐν δὲ τῇ ἐσχάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ μεγάλῃ τῆς ἑορτῆς εἱστήκει ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ ἔκραξεν λέγων, ἐάν τις διψᾷ ἐρχέσθω πρός με καὶ πινέτω.; — In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
John 7:38: ^CA saei galaubeiþ du mis, swaswe qaþ gameleins, aƕos us wambai is rinnand watins libandins.; — ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμέ, καθὼς εἶπεν ἡ γραφή, ποταμοὶ ἐκ τῆς κοιλίας αὐτοῦ ῥεύσουσιν ὕδατος ζῶντος.; — He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John 7:39: ^CA þatuh þan qaþ bi ahman þanei skuldedun niman þai galaubjandans du imma; unte ni nauhþanuh was ahma sa weiha ana im, unte Iesus nauhþanuh ni hauhiþs was.; — τοῦτο δὲ εἶπεν περὶ τοῦ πνεύματος ὃ ἔμελλον λαμβάνειν οἱ πιστεύσαντες εἰς αὐτόν: οὔπω γὰρ ἦν πνεῦμα, ὅτι ἰησοῦς οὐδέπω ἐδοξάσθη.; — (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
John 7:40: ^CA managai þan þizos manageins hausjandans þize waurde qeþun: sa ist bi sunjai sa praufetes.; — ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου οὖν ἀκούσαντες τῶν λόγων τούτων ἔλεγον, οὗτός ἐστιν ἀληθῶς ὁ προφήτης:; — Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
John 7:41: ^CA sumaih qeþun: sa ist Xristus. sumaih qeþun: ibai þau us Galeilaia Xristus qimiþ?; — ἄλλοι ἔλεγον, οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός: οἱ δὲ ἔλεγον, μὴ γὰρ ἐκ τῆς γαλιλαίας ὁ χριστὸς ἔρχεται;; — Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
John 7:42: ^CA niu gameleins qaþ þatei us fraiwa Daweidis jah us Beþlaihaim weihsa, þarei was Daweid, Xristus qimiþ?; — οὐχ ἡ γραφὴ εἶπεν ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος δαυίδ, καὶ ἀπὸ βηθλέεμ τῆς κώμης ὅπου ἦν δαυίδ, ἔρχεται ὁ χριστὸς;; — Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
John 7:43: ^CA þanuh missaqiss in þizai managein warþ bi ina.; — σχίσμα οὖν ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ὄχλῳ δι' αὐτόν.; — So there was a division among the people because of him.
John 7:44: ^CA sumaih þan ize wildedun fahan ina; akei ni ainshun uslagida ana ina handuns.; — τινὲς δὲ ἤθελον ἐξ αὐτῶν πιάσαι αὐτόν, ἀλλ' οὐδεὶς ἐπέβαλεν ἐπ' αὐτὸν τὰς χεῖρας.; — And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
John 7:45: ^CA galiþun þan þai andbahtos du þaim auhumistam gudjam jah Fareisaium; þaruh qeþun du im jainai: duƕe ni attauhuþ ina?; — ἦλθον οὖν οἱ ὑπηρέται πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ φαρισαίους, καὶ εἶπον αὐτοῖς ἐκεῖνοι, διὰ τί οὐκ ἠγάγετε αὐτόν;; — Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
John 7:46: ^CA andhofun þai andbahtos: ni ƕanhun aiw rodida manna, swaswe sa manna.; — ἀπεκρίθησαν οἱ ὑπηρέται, οὐδέποτε ἐλάλησεν οὕτως ἄνθρωπος.; — The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
John 7:47: ^CA andhofun þan im þai Fareisaieis: ibai jah jus afairzidai sijuþ?; — ἀπεκρίθησαν οὖν αὐτοῖς οἱ φαρισαῖοι, μὴ καὶ ὑμεῖς πεπλάνησθε;; — Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
John 7:48: ^CA sai, jau ainshun þize reike galaubidedi imma aiþþau Fareisaie?; — μή τις ἐκ τῶν ἀρχόντων ἐπίστευσεν εἰς αὐτὸν ἢ ἐκ τῶν φαρισαίων;; — Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
John 7:49: ^CA alja so managei, þaiei ni kunnun witoþ, fraqiþanai sind.; — ἀλλὰ ὁ ὄχλος οὗτος ὁ μὴ γινώσκων τὸν νόμον ἐπάρατοί εἰσιν.; — But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
John 7:50: ^CA qaþ Nikaudemus du im, saei atiddja du imma in naht, sums wisands izei:; — λέγει νικόδημος πρὸς αὐτούς, ὁ ἐλθὼν πρὸς αὐτὸν [τὸ] πρότερον, εἷς ὢν ἐξ αὐτῶν,; — Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)
John 7:51: ^CA ibai witoþ unsar stojiþ mannan, nibai faurþis hauseiþ fram imma jah ufkunnaiþ ƕa taujai?; — μὴ ὁ νόμος ἡμῶν κρίνει τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐὰν μὴ ἀκούσῃ πρῶτον παρ' αὐτοῦ καὶ γνῷ τί ποιεῖ;; — Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?
John 7:52: ^CA andhofun jah qeþun du imma: ibai jah þu us Galeilaia is? ussokei jah saiƕ þatei praufetus us Galeilaia ni urreisiþ.; — ἀπεκρίθησαν καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ, μὴ καὶ σὺ ἐκ τῆς γαλιλαίας εἶ; ἐραύνησον καὶ ἴδε ὅτι ἐκ τῆς γαλιλαίας προφήτης οὐκ ἐγείρεται.; — They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee?
